Finally . . .

After coughing and spitting and sputtering all night and then sleeping all day today, I think I'm finally on the mend. With no drugs masking any symptoms this evening, I feel much better - good enough, in fact, to do a little stamping.

My first card is for Nona's Splash of Color challenge. The challenge is to make a card or scrapbook layout using the Silhouette papers with one accent color. I chose Topiary as the accent color for my simple design. Check out Nona's aptly named blog, "Nona's Pearls of Wisdom." She just redid her wedding album with Silhouette papers, and it's beau-ti-ful!

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Bamboo, and Topiary cardstock; Black, Bamboo, and Topiary ink pads; For Every Occasion and Joy Forever stamp sets; My Legacy Writer; Sanding Block; Piercing Tool; Stampin' Up piercing guide and mat.

My second card is completely out of the norm for me. Fall is the only time I use Orange ink, and usually, I save it for Halloween. However, here are some orange flowers, and I kinda like 'em. The card is bright and cheery and just right for "Just a Note."

Materials & Tools: Naturals (retired), Cocoa, and Garden Green cardstock; Orange, Garden Green, and Cocoa ink pads; Friendship Blessings and Impression Obsession Anytime Sentiments stamp sets; Corner Rounder (for scallops); Brown mini brads.

In my opinion, I'm saved the best for last. My third card is the result of something I saw somewhere, but once again, I find myself unable to locate the card that inspired me. My birds are three Heavenly Blue circles with simple, hand-drawn eyes, beaks, and feet. My "Just Sittin' Here Thinking of You" stamp was one stamp prior to my cutting it for this card. There have only been a few occasions when I've cut my acrylic stamps, and before cutting this one, I made certain that it would not be damaged in any way by my doing so. To my way of thinking, these three dumb looking little birds are awfully darned cute. They make me want to laugh, which is a good thing. I haven't laughed much this week.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Twilight, and Garden Green cardstock; Floral Tapestry paper packet; Twilight and Chocolate ink pads; Orange marker; My Legacy Writer; Papertrey Ink Out on a Limb and Impression Obsession Anytime Sentiments stamp sets; Corner rounder (for scallops), Circle Window Charms.

Cards posted, I'm going to take a bath, lay out my clothes for tomorrow, and go back to bed, so I can go to work and be normal (or close to it) tomorrow. Thanks for stopping. I'll be stopping back on the weekend.

Yea!!!! Kathi's feeling better! And she's stamping again! I'm very happy to hear you are on the mend. Your cards are great! Like the splash of color on the first one, but I love the one with the orange flowers! That one is right up my alley. And those bubble birds are adorable!

Hope you have a good day today and don't tire yourself out.
