I Would Have Rather Been Stamping . . .

The small town I grew up in 60 miles from here did not have a hockey team. I grew up with basketball and still rather like it. However, hockey is the game in most Minnesota communities, and Thief River Falls is no exception. In fact, it is home to one of the finest high school hockey arenas in the nation thanks to the generosity of a very wealthy gentleman who grew up and played high school hockey here.

While I'm usually very happy to stay home and stamp, I decided to be a sport and attend tonight's game with Marv, Cameron and the boys, and Dustin and his girlfriend. To be blunt, it was not fun. The little boys were antsy halfway into the first period, and by the end of the second overtime, they were tired and out of control, a fact that the hockey fans I was with seemed oblivious to. The home team lost - finally - in the third overtime. Say what you want, I told Grandpa on the way home, but after four quarters of basketball, the score would not have been tied 1-1. How boring . . . Tomorrow, I stamp!

But, at least, you tried. Right?

I had to smile when you said the hockey fans you were with were oblivious to the antsy boys. Been there, done that!

You are a better woman than I! I would never have gone to a hockey game. I'm proud of you for trying. I also chuckled when you said the fans were oblivious to the boys' behavior. It may have matched the less than stellar behavior all around them (one of the reasons I dislike hockey).

I would have been much happier at home stamping my heart out (or digi scrapping).

Sounds like an interesting way to spend your evening. But, since I love lurking and checking out your beautiful cards, next time you really should stay home...you know to keep us loyal lurkers happy and all!

Seriously, you did good by doing the family thing...but now, get back to stamping, ok? Please...pretty please! :)
