One More

If you follow this blog, you know that my cleaning up my stamp desk frequently results in one more card. Pulling this one off was no small fete considering I'm lucky if I currently have a 6-inch square of clear working surface.

For this card, I used my friend Connie's Nestabilities to cut and emboss the oval and scalloped oval. With the oval design so large, I didn't know what else to do with my card. I played around with some ribbon, but it really wasn't doing much. I brought out some brads, too, but deemed they wouldn't add enough to warrant the extra postage. Finally, I got the idea to bring out my Empressor mat and tool and emboss a "frame" for my stamped piece. Perfect! My card may be simple, but it's not plain. While Stickles don't show up very well in photographs, I note the Liquid Glass sticks out like a sore thumb. I thought I would be able to accomplish a tiny dot of Liquid Glass on each berry and was disappointed when it pooled and spread out. I was also a bit nervous about it changing the color of my berries. However, my ink was dry when I started, and besides, even it the color changed a bit, I figured they would still be in the red family. With regard to the Liquid Glass, my card looks better in person. Finally, if you noticed my sentiment is stamped slightly off kilter, I saw it, too. For what ever reason, stamping a sentiment on an oval and getting it straight proves to be a challenge for me. Oh well, it keeps me humble . . .

It's time to go back to Kathi's Chaos. Until later, thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your Sunday!

I think this card is adorable and I wouldn't change a thing, even the off kilter sentiment looks perfect the way it is.

Another stunner! Like Carol, I think it's perfect the way it is.

I always giggle when you describe your corner because I, too, always end up with about 6 inches of space to work. I doesn't matter how much or little room you have, I think a lot of crafters end up with that same 6 inches. LOL
