Speaking of . . .

On her Stampin' When I Can blog, Allison named Kathi's Corner as one of her Rockin' Blogs yesterday. I'm thrilled and honored. Allison sees a lot of blogs, including the best of the best, so for her to make note of my blog is exciting for me. I've mentioned before that I came across Stampin' When I Can early in my blogging endeavors. At that time, the links to other blogs were invaluable to me. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, and while I think I've pretty much ended up doing my own thing here, it was great to be able to see what others were doing. It still is. Also, the inspiration one gets from other blogs is amazing. As you know, I'm "inkspired" frequently enough.

In recent weeks, Allison's blog has undergone some changes, because of time constraints. She's a writer who works from home (lucky, I think), a mom to two young children, a wife, and when she can, a stamper. She continues to put out all of the great information she's always offered but in a different format. Anyway, believe it or not, she's actually received some criticism for putting her family, job, and hobby in front of maintaining her blog in a time-gobbling fashion. I left a supportive comment, noting that that those who'd complained were also most likely people who'd never taken the time to say thank you. It's difficult for me to fathom how people who don't even know someone can be critical and/or demanding. Then again, I've received a couple of emails with no salutation, no please, and no thank you in advance. Just, "Send me the directions for . . . " I respond in the same manner, "The directions for [whatever] are not available," but then add, "Thank you for your interest." Back to Allison, I'm glad and grateful that she's doing what she's doing. In my brief experience in the blogosphere, I've seen several bloggers close up shop because of the demands of (using Dusty's term) cyber stalkers.

In addition to providing me with a plethora of ideas (and more "favorites" than I can manage), Allison makes me laugh once in a while, too, either by her own sense of humor or that of someone else. It seems our Canadian friend is a bit baffled by American politics and last week provided this link to one of the funniest and insightful things I've read in a long time. I got a thorough kick out of trying to form a mental picture of any of these people stamping or doing anything ordinary, for that matter.

That's enough out of me for tonight. I just wanted Allison to know that I appreciate her, as I do all of you who stop by my little corner. As for how much I'll be blogging during coming days, I don't know. I succumbed to my cold and missed work today. If I haven't ingested so much Vitamin C and drank so much orange juice that they raise heck with my digestive system, I'm going to work tomorrow. I'd like to make up at least half of the time I missed over the course of the next four days, which means long days and short evenings. For now, I'm off to take some Alka-Seltzer Plus. It's awful stuff but does the trick. Later . . .

See, now you are going to think I am a cyber stalker since I have been here twice in say an hour (I can't help it...Google alerts me to whenever my URL is linked somewhere!).

This was so sweet of you to write up...I appreciate it. I had a lot of misgivings before I elected to throttle back but now that I have done it (particularly with four new assignments today!), I couldn't be happier. It is nice to know there are people like you out amongst my PSFs (pretend stamping friends!)...cheers!

Amen Kathi! I and many bloggers owe Allison alot. She is such a kind hearted spirit for doing this in the first place and her blog contains a wealth of inspiration. How anyone can critize her is beyond me. Thanks for this post and for visiting my blog. No doubt you got the link froom Allison:)

I agree-shen I saw Allison post that people were pissed-I wondered what was wrong with this scenerio? I think we should all send her a buck like people give waitresses and they pin them on their shirts to show how much we appreciate her. So she can have a gown of greenbacks!

Wow, I had no clue. I hadn't been to this blog before, but now I will add it to my Reader. How cool that she mentioned your blog, Kathi! I'm not surprised though because it IS a rockin' blog!

All I can say is people don't like change and sometimes they get nasty when it is foisted upon them. Kudos to Allison for doing was is right for her and her family.

Thanks for the heads up on this blog. And FEEL BETTER! I'm sorry you are dealing with the crud that is flying around.
