A Couple of Cards

Here's a very simple card I made using colors that I don't use very often - Amethyst and Kiwi. I can't think of a single thing that needs explaining with the exception of the tag, which I sponged with Amethyst and Kiwi ink to created the mottled look. While armed with an inked sponge I went around the edges of the background piece, too. Oh, and the scalloped edge was created with a Stampin' Up Slot punch.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Amethyst, and Kiwi cardstock; Basic Grey "Lily Kate" paper pad; Black, Amethyst, and Kiwi ink pads; Stay it in Style May SOTM and Solo "E" stamp sets; Round metal-rimmed tag; Stampin' Up Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon; Just Blooms Summer Posies; Amethyst Bigger Brads; White gel pen; 1-1/4 inch circle punch; Stampin Up' Slot punch; Crop-O-Dile; Round sponge; 3M foam mounting tape.

My second card was made with paper from the same Basic Grey pad. Its design is even simpler than the first.

Materials & Tools; Colonial White and Spring Iris cardstock; Basic Grey "Lily Kate" paper pad; Spring Iris ink pad; Faith, Hope, and Charity stamp set; Just Bloom Summer Posies; Stampin' Up Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon; Colonial White Bigger Brads and mini brads; Sponge dauber; Stampin' Up Photo Corners punch; 3M foam mounting tape.

Wow! The day is really flying by, and I'm hungry. Looking at the clock, I suddenly understand why. I should have asked Cameron if he wanted to have dinner with his mom when I saw him at the birthday party this afternoon. I just called him and left a message. Instead of ringing, his phone plays some obnoxious song. It scared me, and I darned near hung up. Kids!! Ah, he called back, and I now have a date in about an hour. We'll eat while his clothes are washing at the laundromat. No "Nice Mom" stuff this week. I'll buy dinner, but I'm not offering to do his laundry! I don't know if I'll make it back to my corner this evening. I might just jump into my jammies early, fluff up the pillows, and thumb through some magazines while watching HGTV.
