A Quick Card

With a little break in the action this afternoon, I thought I'd try embossing vellum with the Cuttlebug and ended up with this very quick and simple, albeit pretty, card. The first piece of vellum I ran through the bug didn't work out so well. I realized it wasn't going to as soon as I heard all the crackling sounds. The vellum cracked and not just a little but a lot. The "fix" is sandwiching your vellum between two sheets of thin copy paper. This often works to keep CTMH cardstock from cracking, too. The rest of the card was easy. I attached the vellum to the cardstock with mini brads in the corner and then added a sheer ribbon bow and simple sentiment. Unfortunately, the camera doesn't do this card justice. It's very soft and elegant looking . . . a perfect wedding card.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Baby Pink cardstock; Vellum; Blush ink pad; For Every Occasion stamp set; White mini brads; White organdy ribbon; Cuttlebug w/Stylized Flowers embossing folder and Nestabilities Classic Circles set.

Bjorn and Grandpa are napping, and Mathias is currently engrossed in Sponge Bob. I think I'll go scoop him up and see if he won't lay down with me for a bit. I don't know about him, but I could use a little mid-afternoon siesta today. Later . . .

Love your quick card. DId you cover your brads on the inside or just let them show. I must try stamping on vellum. Thanks for the hints.

Goofed on my previous comment...oops. Wish there was an edit button...oh well.

This is another beauty! As I've not run vellum through my bug, I appreciate the tips for when I am able to try it.

Thanks for sharing!

What a pretty card! I have used my cuttlebug to emboss a lot but never embossed vellum, I will have to try this. Love the look to your card.
