A Cute Little Bucket

I have to say that Anna Wight is one of my favorite stamp designers these days, and if I'm not mistaken, this card was made with the first set of cling mount stamps she designed for Whipper Snapper Designs. One of the biggest reasons I love her designs is because I love to color, maybe now more than I did when I was a little girl. Secondly, I love the whimsy of her designs. They're sweet but not silly and cute but not too cute. Do you know what I mean? There is something about the bucket in this stamp set that appeals to me. Maybe it reminds me of days on the farm or Grandma's house . . . Whatever it is, this sweet little bucket makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

I've been using my Prismacolor colored pencils more lately and think I'm getting the hang of it. As you know, I like to use ink and a blending pen to color, too. That's the easy option when you're using CTMH inks and paper. They match. For this card it didn't end up mattering, because you'll note that with the exception of the green, the colors I used for background don't "match" any of those in the stamped design. They just kind of go together, and if I do say so myself, I like it.

Materials and Tools: Colonial White, Cranberry, Twilight, Brown Bag, and Olive cardstock; My Mind's Eye Star Bright Check Him Out DP; Black, Twilight, and Bamboo ink pads; Whipper Snapper Designs Posies for You stamp set; CTMH Speckled Background stamp (retired); Prismacolor colored pencils; Gamsol mineral spirits; Blending stumps; Colonial White mini brads; 3M foam mounting tape.

I came home from work a bit early this afternoon not feeling so well due to a poor dietary choice I made earlier in the day. I stopped at the store on the way to work and picked up, among other things, a can of Planter's Honey Roasted Peanuts. By 11 a.m., I had managed to eat the whole can - all 12 servings (not to mention 1920 calories). By 3 p.m., when the no-longer-so-sweet legumes were trying to make their way through my digestive system, I was darned near doubled over in pain. At 4:30, I came home to suffer in silence. I hope you're laughing, because I would be if I felt a little better. What a dumb thing to do.

With the exception of my self-inflicted pain, I had a good day. My writing project that's due at the end of the day tomorrow is done, and everything else is on track for the remainder of the week. Marv's not home this evening, which is probably a good thing. He wouldn't have much sympathy for me. If I can manage the six or so feet from my computer chair to my stamp desk, I'm going to go stamp now. I hope you had a good day, and thanks for stopping. I'll catch you again tomorrow.

There are THAT many calories in a can of nuts?! That should be illegal. Being of the same age, I know the problems. Hope you feel better soon.

Kathi I am so there with you - I got some praline almonds at wallyworld over the weekend - and KNOWING HOW NUTS WORK I still proceded to 'indulge' way too much. I have one word for you .....ZANTAC! lol Hope you are feeling better today. Love the card.

The card and coloring are super. I love to look at your coloring projects. Ü

Oh man, I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well after your "indulgence." I once ate too many pumpkin seeds and oh man, I will NEVER do that again. I so feel for you!

Big hugs! But not too hard...
