Purse Inspired

A co-worker was sporting a new purse today, and while I couldn't tell you what the outside of it looked like, my jaw dropped when I saw its lining. The fabric that lined it featured a tiny leaf print that I would have sworn had been stamped with Close To My Heart's new colors. Obviously, there are some color trends out there that I wasn't aware of. I laughed at the young co-worker, too, who pointed at the Juniper color and commented how she'd love to do a bedroom in that color "in the house I don't have," she lamented. She, her husband, and little girl are currently living with his parents while they get on their feet. I assured her that she just needs to be patient. Sometimes, we have to wait for things.

The new CTMH colors are pretty, aren't they? And yes, Juniper is my favorite, too. With regard to explanation, there isn't much to say about my card. The sentiment is indicative of my mood this evening. To give it a little pizzazz, I stamped it on a Post-It note and cut out the three words - serenity, courage, and wisdom - with a craft knife to create a stencil. The little ribbon tabs were made with some very pretty embroidered ivory ribbon I found at Walmart the other day.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Sorbet, Creme Brulee, Juniper, and Black cardstock; Sorbet, Creme Brulee, Juniper, and Black ink pads; Treasure Life September SOTM and Verve Stamps Serenity stamp sets; CTMH Speckled Background stamp (retired); Ribbon from Walmart; Post-It notes; Sponge dauber; Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots embossing folder; 3M foam mounting tape.

I'm posting late, because the day turned out a little different from the way I thought it would. We have weekend guests who, while they were unexpected, are most welcome. I'll give you a hint. They're short and cute, and most likely, they'll be keeping Grandma busy for the next couple of days. I hope to find a little time to stamp/relax, too, this weekend. I'll see. For sure, I'll be back with something! For tonight, I'll close with a wish that yours is a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

I love those colors together! What a great inspiration you found in that purse. All the details come together perfectly!

Hope you had a great day with your boys. We had rain yesterday and today was bright and sunny. Steve and the girls rode their bikes to the "big" park. Ü
