We All Have Roots . . .

One of my sisters sent me a birthday day that included this thought-provoking quote by Maya Angelou: "No one comes from the earth like grass. We come like trees. We all have roots."

As for my card, it's simple, which is about all one can do with a stamp like this one. I can think of numerous appropriate sentiments, from "Happy Birthday from the Whole Gang" to this one that I computer generated.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Holiday Red cardstock; Black ink pad; Brown Bag, Heavenly Blue, Garden Green, Sunny Yellow, and Holiday Red markers; Impression Obsession Tree Birds; White mini brads; Stampin' Up Ticket punch.

Today was a great day even if I had to do the vacuuming. Actually, Marv didn't get home from the hunting cabin until sometime between 1 and 2 a.m. and after two days of sheetrocking, taping, and texturing, he was and still is a tired puppy. Cameron and the boys spent the afternoon with us. I made beef enchiladas for supper tonight, which were so good and a fun deviation from what we've been eating for the past six months. Speaking of . . . Marv is scheduled for a check up and stress test this week. My fingers are crossed. Back to the present, Bjorn and Mathias were delightful today. I never cease to marvel at how much they change in a few days time. They are just like little sponges, soaking in the world around them. My stamp club met tonight, too. That's always fun and an evening I look forward to every month.

No, I'd better get to bed. I've got a humdinger of a week ahead of me full of big projects and strict deadlines. If I don't have people coming at me from all over the place, I'll be OK. If I do, I'll be putting in some extra hours to get it all done. I hope your week is a good one. Take care, and thanks for stopping by!

You find some great stamp sets in your online shopping...sorta makes me want to start online shopping more. Um, no...wallet wouldn't like that, let alone Steve. LOL I'll be content admiring your finds! Ü

Good luck this week! Beef enchiladas sound yummy.
