Hmmm . . .

I'm not lovin' my card tonight. Wanting to do something different with the little flowers from the Grateful Elegance set, I stamped up a bunch of images to match some of the colors in the plaid DP. I cut them out and inked the edges with a sponge dauber. The rest of the card just kind of evolved into what you see. To me, it appears out of proportion or something. There's the possibility, too, that there's too much proportion. I'm thinking had I put fewer flowers in the upper right hand corner, I might be feeling a little differently right now. There's also the possibility that I might look at it later this evening or tomorrow and think it's the most exquisite thing I've ever created. LOL.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Orange, Cranberry, Twilight, and Black cardstock; Twilight Textured cardstock; My Minds Eye patterned paper; Black, Cranberry, Orange, and Twilight ink pads; Verve Stamps Grateful Elegance and Beautiful You stamp sets; Ribbon from Walmart; Piercing tool; Stampin' Up Piercing Guide and Mat; White gel pen; Black My Legacy Writer.

If nothing I say this evening makes a lick of sense tonight, excuse me. Yesterday, Marv started a temporary job driving truck during the beet harvest. Depending on the weather, the campaign lasts about two weeks. Shifts are 12 hours long. He's driving from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. with an hour to and from the job site. I've been suggesting for the last 15 years or so that he do this, and don't you suppose the first year I don't say anything, he does it? Anyway, for whatever reason, I couldn't get to sleep last night, was still staring at the ceiling at 3 a.m. and thus, am very tired this evening. I'm going to jump into my pajamas, turn on the vice presidential debate, lay down, and take it from there.

As this beet harvest thing goes around the clock, seven days a week, I don't know how the weekend will go. With a husband sleeping during the day, I have a feeling I'll be holed up in my little den, stamping very quietly. As for the extra money he's earning, he mentioned a couple of small things he wants (that he could have purchased anyway) and told me I could have the rest. That's the way he is. As I can't think of anything I want that I wouldn't purchase anyway, I'll be Christmas shopping early this year. That will be fun. I hope you had a great day. It's Friday tomorrow! Hooray! I'll be back then with a card or something. 'Til then, take care!

I like your card just the way it is. And you are probably right that if you go back to it later you will like it. The card I posted on Tuesday I didn't like when I made it Monday but left it on my desk and the next morning when I went my desk my first thought was "What a cool card." However when I posted it I noticed that I didn't quite get everything straight on the card. LOL
