Inkspired Times Two

My card was doubly inspired by two special people. Erin of Inky Smiles created this fun sketch, and Jeanne of Creative Bliss, who rose to the challenge before I got the chance, inspired me with this great card. Cute. Jeanne just left a comment on my last post encouraging me to take a look at Erin's sketch. Little does she know. LOL. I love how the world works.

As for what's notable about my card, there isn't too much. The one little thing that made a huge difference with regard to the card looking "finished" was my use of the Simple Stitches stamp set on the red piece. Prior to adding a little "stitching," the paper was just kind of "sitting there." This is another card, too, that is prettier in person. The Colonial White cardstock often photographs too "white." The last thing I have to say with regard to the card is "thank you" to Erin and Jeanne!

Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Cocoa Cardstock; Basic Grey Infuse 6x6 paper pad; Cocoa ink pad; Verve Stamps Fluttering By, Papertrey Ink Mixed Messages, and CTMH Simple Stitches stamp sets; Ribbon from Walmart; Antiqued Copper mini brads; Sponge dauber.

We had a nice visit with Cameron and the boys this afternoon. What to cook has become a bit of a quandary, as Bjorn appears to be going through a stage regarding food. He says, "I don't like that," regardless of what's on the menu, and sure enough, when I told him we were having tacos, that's exactly what he said. When he got to the table, however, he ate like a trooper. He didn't think much of the apple crisp I slaved over but must have had a half dozen or so helpings of Cool Whip. Typical kid. Grandma's seven hugs and seven kisses has gotten to be quite the game on Sunday nights. Six of the seven hugs are more like squeezes, and I just love the sound of their rippling giggles, their wide grins, and the happiness I see in their bright, twinkling eyes. What a nice way to end the evening and start the week. Speaking of the week ahead, I hope you have a good one.

Oh Kathi! I love this!! I'm tickled that you followed the sketch as well and even used the butterflies. Isn't it fabulous how the same basic design can look different based on the paper used? I love what you chose.

Imagine me inspiring you for a change?!

Should I apologize for the Basic Grey stamp purchase? *Ü*
