Oh, What a Night!

This card started with a Kaleidacolor ink pad that I've had for years. The color is Creole Spice, and it's always been a favorite even though it had attracted considerable dust since I'd last used it. Anyway, I stamped and matted the verse only to ask myself, "Now what?" I looked through a lot of patterned paper and didn't find anything that I thought would work. Finally, I came up with the color-blocking idea, which I wish I'd thought of to begin with. It was the perfect answer for the contemporary look of the stamped verse and a look I love. Simple, too!

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Outdoor Denim, Pansy Purple, and Olive cardstock; Kaleidacolor Creole Spice Rainbow ink pad; Verve Stamps Plain Janes Matthew 11:28 stamp; Silver mini brads; 3M foam mounting tape.

With regard to rest, it didn't happen last night. As I've said before, things have a way of happening in this apartment complex when Marv is gone. Last night, it was a frozen water pipe that burst and two flooded apartments. I had a plumber here until almost midnight. Cameron came after 10 to help clean up the mess in the apartment with the most water. It was a heating pipe that broke, and when the plumber left, he thought he'd restored the heat to most, if not all, of the building. That, however, was not the case, so the telephone started ringing very early. After a night of coughing until I puked (literally), it didn't matter much. Between feeling absolutely rotten and having to stick around for the plumber to come finish the job, I didn't go to work until 3 p.m., and I left again at 4:30 after doing what had to be done today. Before coming home, I stopped and bought the strongest nighttime cold medicine I could find that was available over the counter. Currently, I feel like I'm down for the count. Marv is on his way back, and he's coming home to a huge mess. There are still water issues in both apartments - squishy, wet, ruined carpet on the second floor and a saturated ceiling (with water in the light fixtures) on the first floor. I'm going to go eat a little something and lay down. Thanks for stopping by and listening to my tales of woe. Tomorrow will be better. I'll catch you again then!

Oh my goodness, Kathi! What a time of it you have had yet again! I'm so sorry to hear of the apt troubles.

I do hope you are able to get the rest you need in order to feel better. I just read today that if you put Vicks Vapo Rub on your feet and then put socks on...it stills any cough and allows you to fully rest. I've never tried it, but who knows, maybe it does.

Hugs to you my friend. Oh and the card...beautiful as usual!
