Peaceful Wishes

Good morning! I've really come to look forward to the sketch challenges on the weekends. They get me going, if you know what I mean. This is my card for the Weekend Sketch Challenge #67 on Beate's Fresh & Fun blog. The stamp set is Stampin' Up's retired Peaceful Wishes set. I love this set. While the card would have been fine without it, I added lots of sparkle to the branches and pine cone with Diamond Stickles, and as usual, it didn't photograph well.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Cranberry, Bamboo, and New England Ivy cardstock; Basic Grey Wassail 6x6-inch paper pad; Cocoa, New England Ivy, and Bamboo stamp pads; Stampin' Up Peaceful Wishes and Stampendous Holiday Words stamp sets; Ribbon from Walmart; Antiqued Copper mini brads; Diamond Stickles; 1 and 1-1/4 inch circle punches; Sponge dauber; Sanding block.

This weekend is turning out quite different from what I envisioned a couple of days ago. Marv is gone until this evening or maybe tomorrow. Cam came and got the boys earlier and took them to their mother's house. My sister-in-laws are with their mom. I'm all by my lonesome, which means I can get some stuff done, including a couple of little "extra" things I want to do for Thanksgiving. I can also get my thoughts together for the eulogy Marv's family asked me to write for Clayton. I also wrote his obituary, emailing the final version to the funeral home earlier this morning. No, I suppose I'd better get a move on. Thanks for stopping by! Later . . .

This is terrific! I love the pinecone and boughs. I haven't seen that paper pack in person yet, but it sure looks like a good one. Lovely work, my friend.
