Same Sketch, Different Day

Happy 4th of November! Here's a card I made last night using the same sketch I used last night. The difference is that I used different stamps and the traditional Christmas colors that I love. The focal point stamp is from Stampin' Up's retired Peaceful Wishes set. I stamped my branch with New England Ivy ink and then used red acrylic paint to create the berries, using the end of a medium-size stylus and the dip dot method. I'm not 100 percent sold on the bow in the corner. I just might replace it if and when I come up with a better idea.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Cranberry, and New England Ivy cardstock; Evensong Creative Basics Collection; New England Ivy ink pad; Stampin' Up Peaceful Wishes and CTMH Peace on Earth stamp sets; Satin ribbon from Walmart; Red acrylic paint; Medium-sized stylus; Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots embossing folder.

OK. I yanked off the big red bow and replaced it with a corner element created with Stampin' Up's Photo Corner punch. As you can see, I added a bow, too. I think I like this one better.

I had a crazy day. I was scheduled first thing this morning for a health screening, a preventative medicine thing the company I work for is doing through the insurance company. It consisted of a blood test for cholesterol, triglyceride, and blood sugar levels as well as blood pressure, height and weight, body mass index, body fat composition, and daily calorie consumption. To my surprise, all of my numbers were good. Such was not the case for my 28-year-old son, however, who had his screening later in the day. He has high blood pressure and the rest of his numbers were all in the "at risk" category. He was told to see a doctor now. I am, of course, very concerned. The problems that his father has had were not problems he had when he was only 28 years old. Initially, Dustin told me he'd go for a physical after deer hunting season is over. Priorities, you know. He must have changed his mind, however, and has an appointment for next week. So, I worry.

I took a little time off mid-morning and went to vote with Marv. The line was manageable, and even though we had to drive across town and back again, it only took about 25 minutes. I don't have a clue what's going to happen with regard to outcome. I decided last night, however, that regardless of who the new president is, he will be my president. I don't know yet if I'll watch the election coverage or listen to it from my corner. I'm leaning toward the latter, which means I should be able to come up with something to show you tomorrow night when I get home from bowling. Until then, take care!

I really like them both, but tend to agree with you on the bow placement for the 2nd card. Good choice!

I hope Dusty is able to make some lifestyle changes that improve his overall health. He is pretty young to be showing the signs he is. But he's also young enough that he can turn it around!

Have fun bowling!
