No brads or ribbon. No Sparkles or Edge Anchors. Just a little paper and some ink. A card made elegant by its simplicity. The sad thing is that as I was making it, I knew it wouldn't photograph well. Thus, you'll have to take my word that my card is prettier in person.If you're a quilter, you're probably familiar with what's called white-on-white fabric - a white print on an off-white background. Creating that look was my goal when I embossed the tree in white on Colonial White cardstock. Because the white embossing didn't show up quite as much as I wanted against the off-white paper, I went over it with a sponge dauber using Colonial White dye-based ink. As for the rest of it, it's so simple that I don't know what to say with the exception that dimensions need to be just right and everything needs to be straight on a card like this. If it isn't or if your paper cutter leaves even the slightest of rough edges, it will show. That said, the card isn't quite as simple to put together as it appears. Don't look too close either, as I'm sure it's not perfect. LOL. The stamps are from a Martha Stewart set that landed in my cart at Walmart. The tree is bigger than I wish it was. This card is a 5x7.

I've had a quiet and productive day, balancing my chores with a few stops in my corner. Marv called a little while ago. It sounds like there's quite a gathering of grandpa's sons, grandsons, nephews, grandnephews, and acquaintances at the cabin. They're reminiscing and having a good time - a Lutheran wake of sorts. That's the way it should be. I thought about meeting up with some friends tonight, but that would require makeup, so I begged off. Goregous card. I'll have to try that technique. I have a sinus headache so it's off to bed for me. The gathering at the cabin sounds fitting.
Oh. My. Goodness. This is absolutely gorgeous! Stunning...and perfect! And you say it looks better in person! Wowza. I'm going to have to try this so I can sort of see it for myself.

A beautiful card! I like simple sometimes, too. I had to laugh when you said that the Martha Stewart tree was "bigger than you wanted" - isn't almost everything Martha Stewart "bigger"?!
I'm thankful that Marv is getting to spend time with family.
