Here's my card for this week's sketch challenge on Paper Craft Planet. I made it to go with a coffee-theme Christmas gift. The stamp set is Coffee with Friends from Flourishes, and from the moment I laid eyes on this set, I new it would be perfect for the paper-piecing that I enjoy so much.
As for the card construction, I think it explains itself. Both the focal point image and sentiment are mounted to the card with foam mounting tape, something I almost always do when mounting a piece on top of ribbon that has any kind of bulk to it. One little tip: when mounting a tall image such as this one, I use three strips of mounting tape - one at the top, another at the bottom, and one near the middle, either above or below the ribbon. This makes for a much nicer finished card with a focal point image that doesn't "cave."
Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Barn Red, and New England Ivy cardstock; Basic Grey Wassail 6x6-inch paper pad; Barn Red, New England Ivy, Grey Flannel, and Bamboo stamp pads; Flourishes Coffee with Friends and Papertrey Ink Mixed Messages stamp sets; New England Ivy Designer Ribbon Rounds (retired); 1 and 1-1/4 inch circle punches; Sponge dauber; Sanding block; 3M foam mounting tape.
It's been a great day even though I didn't accomplish a lot in the way of Christmas preparations. Bjorn and Mathias have been here since mid-afternoon, so the atmosphere has been fun and relaxed. They amaze me. Speaking of little people, Mathias wants to hear a bedtime story. Thus, I'll close. I hope your are enjoying the weekend. Thanks for stopping by. Later . . .
