With very little time to stamp this weekend, the "Just a Little Thing" theme for this week's Stamp Simply Challenge on the No Time to Stamp? blog was perfect.
My little 3x3-inch enclosure card was inspired by an even smaller card (2-1/4 inches square), a sweet hand-written thank you with my order from Mandy at Limelight Papercrafts. What the photo doesn't reveal is the dimension. The solid pink piece is mounted to the card with Pop Dots. Cute, huh? The only trick was finding the center of the pink piece. I think I've told you this before. When I need to find the center of my paper I grab my metal ruler and draw a diagonal line from corner to corner. The X in the middle is the bulls eye/center.
Materials & Tools: White Daisy cardstock; Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6x6-inch pad; White Daisy pigment ink; Say it in Style stamp set; Sparkles; EK Success Daisy punch; Pop Dots.
For those of you who are mothers, I hope your day was as good as mine was. Early this afternoon, I served lunch to my mom, my four sisters, my sister Karen's daughter-in-law, my niece, and although she didn't eat much, my almost-one-year-old great niece, Hailey. I kept the menu simple, a main course Warm Chicken and Cranberry salad, rolls and bread sticks, and for desert, a Layered Strawberry Cheesecake Bowl (trifle). It was good, if I do say so myself, and very easy to prepare. The afternoon was spent visiting - just a fun, relaxing, happy time.
I saw both my boys today, too. Cameron stopped over late this afternoon, and Dustin took me and his dad out to dinner. I also received a very special call this morning from Mathias and Bjorn, which afforded me the opportunity to wish their mother a Happy Mother's Day as well.
The only thing that would have made my day better would have been seeing my daughter-in-law-to-be. Miranda, however, spent the day planting her mother's vegetable garden - a big garden she's planted and maintained since her mother died when she was nine years old. I understand her wish/need to do that today, and I'm sure her mom is as proud of her as I am. My hope is that as time goes on, she will feel this mother's love more and more, and it will fill at least some of the void she's experienced all these years.
My head full of thoughts, I could easily keep talking/writing, but instead, I'll cut it off here and put my tired butt to bed. Again, I hope yours was the best of days and that the week ahead is a good one. Take care, friends. I'll catch you again tomorrow night.

Very pretty!. I like little 3x3 cards.
Kathi, your little card is so sweet. I don't usually read blogs I just run past them checking out artwork, but yours is different. I really enjoy reading it as well as checking out your beautiful artwork.
Kathi it sounds like you had a perfectly lovely day! That dessert sounds yummy!
I {heart} your little 3x3 card and I see how dimensional it is.
What a lovely tribute your Miranda has in keeping her mom's memory close. I fully understand her need/desire to do this as well and hope it brings her comfort.
Hugs!
So pretty, I have to try this. I know it may be a no brainer BUT this person hadn't thought about the X factor LOL. Thanks for sharing your lovely card.
