Simple Saturday

Hi! How's your day going? Mine has been up and down.

I got a few cards made, the first one pictured to the left. I was in the mood for something bright and think I accomplished my goal. The photo doesn't show the embossing along the bottom of the black piece very well or the fact the flower on the left was attached with foam mounting tape. Otherwise, what you see is what you get!

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Black cardstock; Magic Moments paper packet; Sunflower, Olive, and Black ink pads; Verve Stamps Petals & Stems and Thoughtful Florals stamp sets; Black Bitty Brads; Stampin' Up Word Window punch; Cuttlebug w/Just My Type border folder; 3M foam mounting tape.

This next card was made with an image I colored the other night. I really love this paper from My Mind's Eye. It's cardstock weight and textured. Cute.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Baby Pink cardstock; My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Tiny Dancer "Jazz" Moving Dots patterned paper; Black ink pad; Whipper Snapper Designs Megan stamp and Papertrey Ink Birthday Basics stamp set; Hero Arts paper flowers; White Bigger Brads; Yellow mini brads; Prismacolor colored pencils; Gamsol odorless mineral spirits; Blending stumps; Black My Legacy Writer; Corner rounder.

My last card was made using yet another colored image.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Chocolate cardstock; Dream Street Designs Near and Dear patterned papers: Black and Chocolate ink pads; Whipper Snapper Designs Eli & Frogger stamp and Close To My Heart Happy Birthday stamp set; Pewter Picture Hanger and Brad; Cocoa Designer Ribbon Rounds (retired); Black My Legacy Writer; 3M foam mounting tape.

Bjorn and Mathias were with us until shortly after noon today. Mathias woke me up shortly after 7 with his usual, "Grandma, the sun is up! It's morning!" After breakfast, Mathias and I played our usual Cootie and Memory games. He won. Both of the boys had a little computer time, too, before we went outside to play and take advantage of a beautiful day. I was having as much fun as they were until I took a tumble while playing soccer. I hope Spray 'n Wash works as well on the grass stains on my pants as it works on their clothes. LOL.

This afternoon, Marv went to the golf course, and I took a nap. Still battling a dumb cold and cough, I'm not as perky as I wish I was. Tonight, I'm going to find something funny to watch on television. Watching news 24/7 is kind of depressing. It's seldom they tell a happy story. What are you up to today? Whatever it is, I hope it is something fun. As always, thanks for stopping by! It gives me a reason to keep coming back!! Later ...

All your cards are so terrific Kathi. I especially like the bold colors of the first one and those flowers.

Kathi did you have as hard a time getting off the ground as I did a few days ago LOL. Hope you are not bruised to badly.

I love your cards and they are adorable. I too went with a cheery flower card today. Of late that is about all I make are flower cards hehe.

Aren't grandson's wonderful...they seem to think with the sun...sun up play, sundown sleep...well sometimes.

Get better and love the cards you did a great job. Have a great and glorious Sunday.

Super duper cards, Kathi! Love the bright flower one. The little girl just tugs at my heart. It so reminds me of the girls. And the little boy is such a great little boy image.

Sounds like you had a busy and mostly fun day (except for the tumble and the lingering cold parts). Yay! Gotta love a good Saturday.

Let's hope Sunday treats you equally well (if not better)!
