... the Success of Liberty

This is my Simple Saturday offering, and with the exception of speckling the heck out of the chipboard star to give it a little character, the card is a "no-stamp" creation.

The photo is large so that you can read the computer-generated sentiment, which was my inspiration. This quote appeared in our daily newsletter at work on Thursday and struck a chord with me. They were spoken by President John F. Kennedy during his Inaugural Address on January 20, 1961.

About my card, the sentiment was printed on patterned paper from Close To My Heart's retired Independence paper packet. The font is CTMH's Fountain Pen. Everything else, I think, is pretty straightforward.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Outdoor Denim, and Cranberry cardstock; CTMH retired Independence paper packet; Cranberry ink pad; Computer/CTMH Fountain Pen font; CTMH retired Speckled Background stamp; Twill ribbon; Chipboard star from my stash; Stampin' Up Horizontal Slot punch; Sanding block.

Happy 4th of July, friends! Later...

Good card for the 4th. I just came in to get some ice tea--it's hot in the sun and put shorts on. Went out with jeans and a long sleeve shirt.
