Cagey

Stupid title, huh? My titles are the result of the first thing that pops into my head, and sometimes, they are kind of goofy.

My card is pretty ordinary and certainly nothing in the way of clever design. And, if the birds are lovebirds, they probably shouldn't be black, a little detail I didn't think about until just now. Of course, had they been white, the cage would have appeared empty. LOL. Enough.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Papertrey Ink Berry Sorbet cardstock; Basic Grey Porcelain 6x6-inch paper pad; Black, Olive, and VersaMark ink pads; Gold detail embossing powder; My Cute Stamps Ashley's Blossoms stamp set; PTI Berry Sorbet satin ribbon; Kaiser Krafts pearl accents; Stampin' Up Ticket punch; McGill Multi-tag punch; Embossing heat tool.

How is your Monday going? It's so far so good for me. Work was OK, with me leaving a little early to run a couple of wedding errands that I couldn't do on the weekend. Tonight, I'm going to finish up a couple of things that I didn't get to last night and then, take it easy. Thanks for your recent comments on my cards ... and my mess. I am relieved that there are people out there who can relate. My corner is all straightened out again just waiting for another creative cyclone to hit. Enjoy the evening! Later...

Great card Kathi. I love the colors.

I had to giggle because my daughter, Reynna, told me that somebody posted on her blog. That somebody being you. It turns out that I was on her account when I posted my comment.

She was thrilled that no matter how it came about, that somebody besides me came and visited her blog.

Kathi - this is so pretty! And I love your anniversary/wedding card...and the apron (I ordered that stamp last week - tee hee) and all of the other stuff I missed while I was at Leadership. Especially the mess!!! I have to do a clean-up in my room before my new stuff gets here. Good grief!
Thanks for giving me something pretty to look at ;-)

Very cute card! I love your term "creative cyclone". That's my scrap room, too. As a teenager, my mother used to say my bedroom "looked like a cyclone struck it!". LOL, some things never change.

Creative Cyclone LOL!!! Love it.
At first when I saw your card I Thought you had bent wire to make the cage..then I realized that is embossing! That is no small task to get such thin neat embossed lines...I am impressed.
Love the card Kathi so pretty....even with the black lovebirds ;-)
That wedding is getting closer! You are going to be one busy helper.

It's a beautiful card! I love the soft pinks of the paper, and the lovebird image is just so sweet!

The term cyclone applies to me, too. I TRY to clean up after working - but that's the joy of having a real craft room - I can simply walk out and close the door if I need to. I forgot to snap that photo today - next time.

Your commentary about the birds made me chuckle.

(I think the birds look fine!)

Kathi, reading your posts always makes me grin. I really like your title AND your card. I'm impressed, like Sarah, that you can emboss so neatly. And your comment about the birds made me chuckle.

Thanks for the new term to describe my crafty space (which I haven't touched in forever it feels like) after a creating session!

Have fun with all the finishing up for the wedding.

Steve's sister and her hubby are visiting for the next few days, so I'll still be MIA on the blog most likely. Kids go back to school on the 19th...maybe THEN I'll get some time to be crafty. LOL

Oh Kathi! How can you say your card is "pretty ordinary"? It certainly is NOT! I love your card. I love how you matched your birdcage with the paper. I love the color as well...so feminine! Once again, I sit in awe of your work. Great job!
