The smile, laugh, giggle ... that is! I don't think I've laughed nearly enough lately and don't remember the last time I giggled. For the past few days, I've been in a "mood" - the kind where nothing specific is wrong and yet, nothing seems quite right. It's the result, I think, of taking life too seriously.
My card tonight is not serious. In fact, it was effortless, fun, and too simple for Simple Saturday. LOL. With the exception of the brad and stamped sentiment, the card amounts to a cute 4-1/2 by 6-inch sheet of cardstock from DCWV's "The Green Stack" scaled down to fit a 4-1/4 by 5-1/2-inch card base. I ordered three DCWV "matstacks" recently and love 'em all. While "The Green Stack" as some great paper for "regular" card-making, it also features several very sweet designs that won't require much effort at all. Perfect for those times when one is in a hurry or, as in my case, lacking mojo due to a funk.
Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Cranberry cardstock; DCWV The Green Stack; Cranberry ink pad; Hero Arts Anytime Messages stamp set; Yellow brad from my stash; Piercing tool; Stampin' Up Piercing Guide & Mat.
You know, there's something about talking about/admitting to being in a funk that seems to help bring me out of it. Maybe it's because owning up to it makes me realize how ridiculous it is. Makes me think, too, about Abe Lincoln's wise words, "Most folks are about as happy as they make their minds up to be." Yep, it's all in the attitude. With that, I'm going to go do a little housekeeping and wait to greet my husband, who will return this evening from an overnight business trip. I hope my smile isn't too big a shock for him. Poor guy, who, after all these years, still has a hard time dealing with the moods of his wife. LOL. As for you, if you're still with me, thanks for listening to my little spiel. Enjoy the evening! I'll catch you again tomorrow night!

Kathy,
I enjoy reading your blog and seeing your beautiful cards. You are so creative! Thanks for sharing and putting a smile on face everyday!
Kathy,
Simple, but spectacular! Thanks for sharing your creativity. Keep smilin'.
Kathi, love the card. beautiful bold colors.
I know exactly what you mean about a funk. I think mine started Monday with a (so far) $56.00 gathering. I am still hoping the hostess collects a couple more orders and places one herself as she wants it all. Remains to be seen. To top it off, I took a dinky calculator to the gathering and it had buttons in all the wrong places and ended making a $2.21 error. somewhat embarrassing. Going to veg for an hour in front of TV. Thanks for letting me share your funk - grins.
Love your card. I too have been in a funk for a couple of weeks. I keep blaming the weather. We haven't had summer yet. I'm going with a friend tomorrow to pick up the new CTMH catalogs. It is supposed to be 80-90 this weekend. Sure hope it happens.
It definitely is all about the attitude GF!!! Blogging is like therapy for free. So many times I share with you guys stuff I wouldn't say to people I know in real life.
Weird!
I have this stack....I just LOVE it! I wondered what to do with this page..it looked more scrappy than cardy!!! I will have to steal this immediately.
Thanks for sharing Kathi!
Simple and fabulous! Love the sentiment, sure to put anyone in a good mood!
Kathi,
What a wonderful, simple and happy card! I love the colors!
You are allowed to experience different moods - but I do agree with good ole Abe. He was a wise man.
Be Happy!
I know just what you need! Come to our team scrap/stamp retreat in Two Harbors on beautiful Lake Superior. There's a spot just for you in Mary Jo's cabin! Aug 12 - 16....it's the best days of the summer!
Great card! Excellent sentiment and one I need to be reminded of from time to time. Thank you for that.
I well understand funks and while they are not fun at all, they do serve to help us appreciate our blessings all the more.
Here's hoping your funk makes a swift exit and you get a good giggle in soon. Amy and I shared a giggle on the couch the other day that actually brought tears to our eyes. I don't even know why we giggled so hard, but it was precious.
Beautiful card! You make me smile too!
Hope you're feeling better!
I love these colors!!! Awesome work!
