Lazy, etc.

My mind is busy. My body is lazy as all get out tonight. It's tired, too, which is due, I think, to brain overload. Have I said yet I'll be glad when the wedding is over? Between the big event and other "stuff" cluttering up my little head, I'm all tuckered out and wishing we came equipped with on and off switches. LOL.

While definitely different, my card was inspired by this card on the Laurel's Place blog. Her use of Desert Sand inspired me to use my favorite Kraft cardstock, and I loved her scoring down the side, which, on my card serves as a "channel" for my ribbon. As for the rest of my design, I used circle punches, patterned papers, and stamps from the Angel Whispers set, which just happened to still be out on my desk. I really wanted to get through one post without using the "S" word, but I gotta say it: It's another simple card.

Materials & Tools: Stampin' Up Kraft and CTMH Chocolate cardstock; Cosmo Cricket Early Bird Collection patterned paper; Chocolate, Olive, and Desert Sand ink pads; CTMH Angel Whispers and Papertrey Ink Mixed Messages stamp sets; Red mini brad; Stampin' Up Old Olive grosgrain ribbon; Various circle punches; McGill Multi-tag punch; Scor-Pal; Sponge dauber.

It was another busy day. I've got a couple of big projects going on at work with lots of little spur-of-the-moment, do-it-now-type stuff landing on my desk on a regular basis. On the home scene, things are quiet tonight - just the way I like it. With that, I'm off to clean up my corner and then find some paperwork to prove to my health insurance company that my husband of nearly 32 years is indeed my husband. It seems like a silly thing to have to do ... I hope your Tuesday was terrific and Wednesday is wonderful. Catch you again then!

I like the card-its an easy card and that seems to be the theme for me right now!
As far as the Wii-I asure you that I will only do boxing in the comfort of my own home-I KNOW I MUST LOOK LIKE A FOOL! It's a work out though. I bet your grandson is really cute playing!

Well. I think 32 years deserves a tatto or something permanent - ha! Good luck. Paperwork and I don't mix.
Your cards make 'simple' somethin' special!!!

Great card Kathi. I love the simplicity of it. I'm glad you can have a quiet time at home tonight. Enjoy and good luck proving that you've been married for 32 years.

You say Simple, I say Stunning!!! I was giggling to myself that Aaron, Laurel and yourself all did a simple Kraft type card today...and last night I did one too with loads of blank space :-)...
I LOVE your score lines and the flowers with the Angel Whispers SS!!!
I hope things calm down for you soon Kathi!
32 years marriage must just NOT be long enough...don't you just hate that extra effort you have to put out to get something you are entitled to? It's ridiculous.

I LOVE the card Kathi - easy suits me just fine right now! I'm tired too!

I'm shaking my head about the "proving your husband of 32 years is really your husband" thing. It just baffles the mind! I think it's a stall technique, personally. If they put us off long enough, they think we will simply go away.

Ha!

Happy hump day tomorrow!

The card is darling! I love the flowers on the Kraft.

The bad apples ruin it for all of us. Too much fraud out there. At least they are checking and making sure, though it may be a pain.

Hang in there through it all. But I totally understand the feeling of wanting it to be done with already.

Fabulous and fun card! Great work! You say simple like it's a bad word, it surely isn't. I've long said it's way harder to know what to leave off than to keep piling stuff onto a card. It's an art! You are one of the masters of it.

I hope your brain can start calming down soon and give it a rest so you can just enjoy things. Mine keeps a hopping on my end too, but for different reasons, I assure you.

Sorry about the pain with the insurance. I remember when my dad was applying for social security, after having worked for umpty odd years, and having been a US Marine...he had to PROVE his US citizenship! What a pain in the patootie that was for him, but it got done and yours will too. 32 years though...that's fantastic! You should shout that from the rooftops in this day and age of disposable marriages!

I'm done spouting off now...hope you have a wonderful day, full of happy and fun thoughts! Hugs!
