Sweet Friend

"That's What Friends Are For" is the theme for Stamp Simply #99 on the No Time to Stamp? blog. The only requirement for this week's challenge is that the word "friend" appear somewhere on the card front. Not a problem!

Button cards abound these days, inspired, I believe, by the introduction of this cute stamp set from Papertrey Ink. My simple, fun-to-make rendition is just one more.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Black cardstock; Studio 45 Communique Collection Society Page patterned paper; Garden Green, Olive, Black, and Bamboo ink pads; Garden Green marker; Serendipity, Soul Mates, and Say it in Style stamp sets; Buttons from my stash; Dark red embroidery floss; Vineyard Berry grosgrain ribbon; Cuttlebug w/Nestabilities Classic Ovals set; Sponge dauber; 3M foam mounting tape.

Happy Friday! How was your day? Mine was busy albeit a bit slow, waiting for the 5 o'clock hour to roll around. The earlier portion of the evening was spent playing with the boys. I'm not sure what we'll be doing tomorrow. While I'd really wanted to take them to the farm, I was also hoping for some decent weather, so they could spend some time outside. It rained today. We'll see what tomorrow looks like in the morning. Before we go anywhere, I have a pile of laundry and some housework to address. For tonight, I'm going to bed.

I hope your weekend is great. I also hope to make it back with something for Simple Saturday. If not, I'll catch you Sunday. Besides, it's been kinda "simple" around here all week ... LOL. Take care!!

Another terrific card! Love your take on the recent button craze. Those cherries look yummy!

Hope the weather cooperates and you all can have some fun on the farm, but if not, I'm sure you will come up with something just as fun for the boys!

Kathi,
I love this card!! The cherries look good enough to eat! The background paper is very interesting and I love how you aged the edges of the paper! Beautiful!

I hope the weather cooperates with you and the farm is do-able!

You should submit this for publication to CARDS! They're accepting friendship cards and I think this is perfect!

SO "berry" cute ...(Yeah, I know a cherry isn't a berry ... )

I agree. PTI's stamp set has given new life to buttons -- even for those who don't own the PTI set.
