You are my sunshine ...

... my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray ... Remember that song? Now, that I brought it up, I'll probably be singin' it song all day long. LOL.

This card is my take on Weekend Sketch Challenge #99, posted on the Fresh & Fun blog. I deviated from the sketch a bit in keeping my card a standard 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inch size. As for additional explanation, I don't think my card warrants it. Besides, if you have questions, you can always ask.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Black, and Cranberry cardstock; Retired Cranberry gingham paper; Black and Cranberry ink pads; Treasures September Stamp of the Month; Black Bitty Brads; Kaiser Kraft adhesive-backed pearls; Martha Stewart Butterfly punch; Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots embossing folder and Nestabilities Classic Circles set.

I hope yours is a great day! Thanks for taking the time to visit ...

What a cheery card! Love the song You Are My Sunshine. Jimmie Davis governor of Louisana wrote and recorded the song in 1940. My childhood heroes Roy Rogers and Gene Autry also recorded the song.

WOW Kathi, this card really speaks to me. I love how the circle element is cut off on the side. And those butterflies. And the pop of red with the black and white. I do believe I will be lifting this for sure.

I hope your Sunday is a great one!

What a cheery card! Love the colors - love the song, too! It's a good thing, because I'll be humming it every time I see that stamp now!

Hugs!

This card is FABULOUS! Love every single thing about it, not the least of which is the song I will be humming the rest of the day.

Love the white, black and pop of red, and of course, those butterflies.

Wowzers, Kathi...you knocked it out of the park with this one!

Pretty card! I love those colors together.
I have the song... "Monday Morning" stuck in my head this morning, by the mamas & papas. Remember that one? Someone on FB said I just gave my age away. hahahah... who cares! :)
Have a great Monday girlfriend!

Fantastic card. Love the texture, the mix of colors and the checker paper with the dotted dry embossing.
Thanks so much for playing!
