Be Still…

Christmas Trinkets_2_Dec 2009

Darn! Another card that didn’t photograph well. The short days – going to and coming home from work in the dark – are getting to me. Lack of light makes for a lousy photo and a cranky stamper. Not really. I just need to invest in some decent lighting.

The card, in real life, is quite pretty. I stamped the snowflakes with VersaMark on white cardstock and embossed them using CTMH’s retired Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder. Thus, they have more sparkle than the photo reveals. I used a round sponge to “color” my image with Heavenly Blue and Amethyst ink. I also sponged some ink on the piece the sentiment is stamped on prior to removing it from the Nestabilities die. I think the pretty snowflakes and soft colors are a good match for the sentiment – one of my favorite Bible verses.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Heavenly Blue cardstock; Heavenly Blue, Amethyst, Crystal Blue and VersaMark ink pads; CTMH Christmas Trinkets and Verve Stamps Psalm 36:10 Plain Janes stamp; Lilac Mist organdy ribbon; Sparkles; Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder; Round sponges; Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots embossing folder and Nestabilities Labels Eight set; 3M foam mounting tape.

How’s your week going? The little boys have the “Merry Christmas Jitters,” and Grandma is in a holiday stupor. I’m having a heck of a time getting it going this year, even though I know, like every other year, it will all come together. It’s still bitterly cold but with very little wind, so it’s bearable providing one doesn’t stand around outside for too long a period of time. Tomorrow is Friday. A couple of days of are just what I need.

I hope you’re happy, healthy, and warm! Thanks for stopping by! Later…

Oh that is BEAUTIFUL! I love what you've done and the sentiment is perfect for advent! Don't worry about the hustle and bustle - enjoy this time, meditate on the meaning and enjoy your family.

Hugs!

Beautiful Kathi! I think it shows up just fine, but I hear you on it getting too dark too early. I love every thing about this card!

Hopefully you will break out of the arctic freeze here soon. We'll be having a weekend in the 40s they say, which will definitely feel like shorts weather after this past week!

Good luck getting going on your holiday planning/doings. I'm right there with you, btw!
