A Five-Pounder

If you stop by my blog with any kind of regularity, you know heavily embellished cards Take Three_Spring_2_Mar 2010are not my thing. I call ‘em five-pounders, and I don’t do ‘em. Well, last night I was in the mood for something different – as in “Vintage,” and one thing led to another. It’s a four and a half pound card, and I’m not sure if it’s “vintage” or just dirty pink. LOL.

I was inspired by Stamped Simply #129 “Punched Borders” theme on the No Time to Stamp? blog. I’ve got a little bit of everything going here, including a couple of sweet crocheted flowers from my even sweeter friend Jeanne. Scroll down on her Creative Bliss blog a bit to see the cool knitting project she’s got going – the cutest bunny I’ve ever laid my eyes on. Back to my card, there’s not much more to say with the exception that my sponge got quite a workout. I went so far as to dirty up the ribbon and am checking my fingers for blisters. LOL.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Blush cardstock; Blush, Baby Pink, and Bamboo ink pads; Papertrey Ink Take Three: Spring stamp set; Hero Arts Spring Memories stamp (old); Crocheted Flowers by Jeanne (sounds like the name for an Etsy shop, doesn’t it?), Basic Craft Buttons; KaiserKraft pearl accents; Stampin’ Up Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon; Ecru crochet cotton; Pretty Pins; GlueDots; Edge Distressor tool; Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edger punch.

Happy Friday! I’m posting earlier than usual, because we have little guests again tonight. I am so glad, too, because I will finally have a solid “block” of time with them. I look forward to tomorrow morning, too. Kids are so sweet in the morning. They always wake up happy and excited to take on the new day.

No. With a couple of things to do before the little munchkins arrive, I’d best close for now. As always, thank you for your visits. Have a great weekend, and if you get a chance, stop back to check out my Simple Saturday offering. I’ve got a little project (more than a card) to share, too! Later …

Your "dirty" vintage card is gorgeous. I love the look of it and I've been eyeing that stamp set from PTI.

Have fun with those boys tonight.

Your five-pounder card is just stunning, Kathi! I love every single detail you added to this card. But I sure hope you didn't get any blisters. LOL

Thanks for the comments about my flowers. I'm so glad you can use them so beautifully. (don't think I didn't notice your nudge about an etsy shop in your supply list...yep, I pretty much read every single thing you write...LOL)

Have a wonderful time with your boys! What a great weekend you will be having and it couldn't happen to a nicer person! *Ü*

Oh Kathi!
Your card is just stunning! I am a lumpy bumpy kind of girl and I have to say, I am a 5 pounder kind of gal. Although, I am trying to remember less is more. Your cards are always so terrific! Love them all!
