While I was relatively certain I would like Close To My Heart’s new Passages paper packet, I didn’t realize I would love it. But I do – a whole bunch!
This first card is my take on Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 73 as featured on The Sweetest Thing blog. Note how the tail of the bird extends beyond the circle. The image was too big, so I stamped the tail on a scrap of cardstock, cut it out, matched it up, and adhered it to the back of the circular piece. I love the dimension it adds – so much I repeated my little “trick” on the card below. Aren’t these rich colors pretty?
Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Cocoa cardstock; Passages Level 2 paper packet; Barn Red and Bamboo ink pads; Live Inspired stamp set; Antiqued Copper Mini Medley Accents Collection; Cuttlebug w/Nestabilities Classic Circles set; Round sponge; Sanding block.
This second sketch, Unscripted Sketches #59, was a bit trickier, but I’m happy with the way my card turned out. I flipped the patterned paper for this card, combining the so-pretty Garden Green pattern with New England Ivy.
Materials & Tools: Colonial White, New England Ivy, and Barn Red cardstock; Passages Level 2 paper packet; New England Ivy and Bamboo ink pads; Live Inspired stamp set; Square pewter brads; Stampin’ Up Pewter Build-a-Brad; Cuttlebug w/Nestabilities Classic Rectangles set; Round sponge; Sanding block.
Well, it’s Monday. Actually, it is a fine day. I was busy at work. The sun is shining. I had a call from a friend I hadn’t talked to in a long time when I got home. Catching up was good. Marv made supper. All is well. I hope your day was a good one, too. Tonight, I’m going to do a couple of domestic things and then settle into my corner for a little stamping session, so I have something to show you tomorrow. Talk to you again then!

These are lovely!
Beautiful cards!
Yummy cards, Kathi! What a neat trick for the bird - and I do love the way it fits on the circle and rectangle better the way you did it! Just more balanced! I like this paper, too. It's RICH.
Hugs!
I have always known you were a clever girl. More proof. Love the cards. My day was so horrible I had to eat comfort food for lunch - if you can call Burger King comfort food. :-)
Glorious!!!!! Love the cards and the paper, too. Hope the dinner was good!
You've really made these papers and stamps shine Kathi. Way to go.
I'm glad you had a good Monday. Have a good night.
FABULOUS, Kathi! I love your clever trick with the tail. You can't even tell. Wonderful. Those papers sure look like "Kathi" papers, too.
Our day was essentially dry and that is good. The sun tried peeking out, too, also good. Not so fun was going to the dentist to have a tooth checked out and finding out I have to go back today and start the process to get a crown. Sigh. Ah well, at least the Grand Canyon that is my tooth will get taken care of. And the sun is shining BRIGHTLY this morning. That is a great thing. *Ü*
Can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve next.
These are beautiful Kathi...you've inspired me to open my CTMH catalog and take a peekie!:)
