All Seasons Sweet

Nature's Vein_Aug 2010

Here is my take on Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #125. We noticed this weekend that the leaves are just so barely starting to turn color. It’s coming to that time of year.

I stamped my leaves using the stamp rolling technique. The combinations were Autumn Terracotta and Cranberry, Goldrush and Autumn Terracotta, and Sunflower and Goldrush. Why I didn’t stamp the leaves directly onto the background, I don’t know. Instead, I stamped them on a separate piece of cardstock and cut them out. To give the plain paper some texture, I used the Saran Wrap technique on the Autumn Terracotta card base. The sentiment was mounted to the card with foam tape.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Autumn Terracotta, and Cocoa cardstock; Autumn Terracotta, Cranberry, Goldrush, Sunflower, Cocoa, and Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink ink pads; Close To My Heart Nature’s Vein, Air Mail (retired), and Impression Obsession Count Your Blessings stamp sets; Sunflower mini brads; Sponge dauber; 3M foam mounting tape.

A Slice of Life: If today was any indication, it is going to be another fast week. This evening, we drove out to Dustin and Miranda’s house to check on their progress. I think my son, however, must have Little Red Hen Syndrome, as I keep offering to help, and he keeps saying (more or less), “I will do it myself.” LOL. With what is left of the evening, I’m going to stamp a little and then take a relaxing bath before I hit the sheets.

I hope your Monday was a good one, too. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Kathi, I am loving all the fall cards I am seeing on the blogoshpere. Love the texture in your leaves. Great job with the rock n roll technique -so very subtle. It is kind of hard to get enthusiastic about fall in sunny FL when our two seasons are HOT and HOTTER.
Hope you have a great week.

This is beautiful! (and autumn is my favorite time of year...I grew up in Vermont where the autumn foliage can't be rivaled!)
So tell me...what's the saran wrap technique you were referring to?

Beautiful fall leaves!!! Gosh - can it really be the beginning of autumn? It was something like 108 degrees here today!

I love autumn best of all the seasons. The crisp air - the beautiful colors (so RICH!). Love your card, Kathi!

(little red hen, tee hee!)

Oh goodness, another beauty! Yes, the seasons are beginning to change. I suspect your colors are a bit prettier than ours and that must have been your true inspiration. Love it.

Giggles over Dustin's comments. That pride of ownership cup must be overflowing. *Ü*
