Creepy Candy

This is darned near too elementary to post, but I'm thinking it might be something new to someone. Covering a Hershey bar used to amount to creating a wrap to cover the wrap that was around the foil-wrapped candy bar. Then, Hershey changed its wrapping, which inspired new ways of covering these sweet treats.

To cover my candy bars, I used 5-1/2 by 8-inch pieces of vintage CTMH B&T paper (does anyone remember CTMH's 8-1/2 by 11-inch B&T papers?) that were in my stash. You simply stamp it (optional), add some tape to one long side (I used Terrifically Tacky tape), wrap it, use a paper corrugator to crimp the ends before trimming them and proceeding to decorate as desired. Now, as you can see, I didn't do anything fancy here, because it doesn't make sense to me to get too fussy with something that's going to be torn and tossed. Besides, this might just be one of those projects one wants to do a bunch of, so the KISS rule (as in Keep It Simple, Sweetie!) should be applied. One hint -When working with a Hershey bar, one needs to move relatively quickly. As I wrapped and corrugated the paper, I felt those buggers becoming more and more pliable, so I worked fast. Chocolate that's melted and solidified again is truly creepy, which was not my intention.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Black cardstock; CTMH Orange B&T paper (long retired); Black and Orange ink pads; Papertrey Ink Spooky Sweets stamp set; Ribbon from Walmart; Terrifically Tacky tape; Circle punches.

I'm in a silly mood tonight after working my butt off earlier in the day. Becoming reacquainted with my computer is an arduous task that slows me down. Because we have four bowlers for a three-man team, it's my turn to sit out tomorrow night, which is OK. Depending on how the day goes, I might go hang out and cheer the team on. Otherwise, I'll come home. For tonight, I'm going to curl up with a magazine and hopefully, fall asleep early. I hope you had a good day and that tomorrow is a good one, too. As always, thanks for stopping!

Very cute! I've seen these, but never attempted. Glad to know you need to work quickly. See...I might have to "get rid of" the melting chocolate (as in eat it). And given my recent difficulty finding jeans, that wouldn't be a good thing. LOL That B&T was before my CTMH time, but I remember seeing it! Ü

Glad you had a better (?) day!
