Spooky

This is one of those projects that most everyone but me has already done - a Genie Bag. However, if you're like me and haven't gotten around to it yet, the tutorial can be found here on the Splitcoast Stampers website. It was a fun and easy.

At some point in time, I'd picked up a package of 4-5/8 by 8-5/8 inch paper sacks at Michael's. Basically, what you do is make a card front and back to attach to the front and back of the bag. I cut the top of my sack down, and my card front measures 5 by 7. I opted to only decorate the front with thoughts that the little person I give it to probably won't care. As for what's going inside, it will most likely be several matchbox cards and maybe one sweet treat. That way, if someone ends up all hopped up on sugar on Halloween, it won't be Grandma's fault! The stamping pretty much explains itself. I attached the ribbon handles with Glue Dots sandwiched between the cardstock and the bag. Looking at it, I wish I'd opted for a yellow moon. Oh well, next time.

I whined a bit in my last post and got that out of my system, so now I'll talk about something fun. Art Linkletter was right about kids saying the darnest things. Yesterday, I was in the bathroom (the lock doesn't work), and in walked little Mathias. "Mommy's pretty," he said in a very matter of fact tone. "Yes, she is," I responded, and then asked, "Is Daddy handsome?" "Yes, Daddy's handsome, and Bjorn's handsome, and I'm handsome, but not everybody is handsome," he said, shaking his cute, little head with the last phrase. A person has got to wonder what rolls around in the mind of a three year old. I got a kick out of that one but opted not to take the conversation any further.
