Moving On . . .

Thinking that everyone had probably seen enough Christmas cards for this year, I moved on to the next holiday - New Years. Prompting me along was CTMH's new January Word Puzzle set. I'll have to say I'm impressed with these stamp sets for every month. There are words and images for cards, scrapbook pages, calendars, you name it. The January set includes lots of "winter" words and snowflakes that have six points for those of us to are particular about our snowflakes being anatomically correct! February's set has a Valentine's Day theme, and March covers both St. Patrick's Day and Easter. The theme is spring for April, and that's all we get to see for now. I will be anxious to see what CTMH comes up with for May thru August when it's time for the summer catalog.

This first card was made with the Creative Basics Silhouette collection - paper that you'll probably be seeing a lot of because I love it! I also love the new Make it Count stamp set, but because I don't have it yet, I used the pocket watch stamp from Vintage Father's Day.

My second card features an out-of-the-box (for me anyway) color combination from the Color Guide - Olive, Spring Iris, and Vanilla Cream. I stamped the background with stamps from the It's a Party Set! using the Clear Watermark/Embossing stamp pad. I hadn't previously used it for creating a watermark look, as I usually use same color ink. With a color-block background, this card provided me with the perfect opportunity to try it out. It worked like a charm, which means this ink pad will be reached for again and again. The martini stamp is from Random Thoughts. Once the ink was dry, I squeezed a tiny amount of Liquid Glass onto the bowl and base of the glass. While you can't see it in the photo, the Liquid Glass adds enough dimension to make one want to touch it.

With a couple of cards under my belt for tonight, I'm going to go clean up Kathi's Corner. I might be just be back, too, because regardless of what my intentions are, I seem to lose control when I am in the presence of stamps and paper. Later . . . maybe . . .
