It's All Good!

So, what do you think? I like it. I was able to salvage not only my butterfly but my brads, my card base and even my wire antennae and the tape that held them in place. I started over with scraps from the oh-so-lovely Free Spirit paper packet and a Honey background piece. I pierced the edges of all three of the patterned paper pieces and stamped by sentiment on the center piece. The sentiment again is from the Anytime Sentiments set from Impression Obsession. This particular saying has perhaps been a bit overused as of late, but considering the temperatures, it's appropriate. I haven't commented on the weather recently only because I've become acclimated to it. I love this particular sketch, whether I'm using patterned paper or several cardstock colors. It's so versatile. The dimensions of the paper strips, by the way, are 1-11/16 by 4. A little trick to getting them aligned on your base is to adhere the top one, then the bottom one, and lastly, the middle piece. It's much easier that way to get it centered and the spacing even. While heaven forbid anyone ever take a ruler to one of my cards or scrapbook layouts, I like things straight. I inherited "straight" from my dad, and like he could, I can walk into a room and note that a picture on a wall is off a 1/16th of an inch.

Before I give away any more of my little idiosyncrasies, I'll close for tonight. I'm tired, having got up early. Just wanted to share my sigh turned smile with you. Thanks for stopping. I'm relatively certain I'll be back tomorrow. I've still got that acetate card in my head . . .

Hahaha--that's exactly what I was going to say--it's unanimous! I absolutely love this card. What a nice change from pastel butterflies :)
