The Way Things Just "Happen" . . .

On my way to bed, I decided to check a couple of favorite blogs that usually have new posts every day but hadn't as of earlier in the day when I checked. One of those favorites is Heartfelt Greetings. Nope, no new post today, but that birdcage stamp that piqued my interest yesterday. Amy says it's from Hero Arts. I Google Hero Arts and find the website. I click on products and search for "birds." Oh yes, there's the stamp. I click on the artwork. Cute. I note Hero Arts has a gallery. I click again and then click on "flowers" on the menu. My finger clicks yet again on a card I think is cute, and here we are. I thought I must have a flower stamp that will work for that card. Yep. Floral Charms. Certainly I have cardstocks in similar colors. I used textured cardstock in Sweet Leaf, Blush, and Crystal Blue. I didn't stitch around my card but pierced the edges instead. What I didn't have that I thought I wanted was four white buttons, not heart-shaped buttons but round ones. I have a few white buttons but not four that are the same size. Now what? Brads? No. White Liquid Applique? Nope. I settled for a stamp, which I ended up liking better than the buttons I'd "tried on" the flower centers but didn't have enough of. I intentionally skipped the bow. I also opted to stamp "Happy Birthday" (from the Happy Birthday stamp set) in Sweet Leaf. If my card doesn't already have black on it, I usually don't stamp my sentiment in black.

So, this is how inspiration happens in Kathi's Corner. It isn't always that I can act on it so quick, but I looked at the clock at thought, "It's not that late." I still needed one more project for my stampers to make tomorrow night at our club meeting. I think I've got it! And, now that I've added white buttons to my shopping list, I'm off to bed!

ROFLOL KATHI - you are so funny. I love this card... I just bought a HUGE BAG of WHITE ONLY buttons at Walmart in the sewing whatnots.
