A Notecard Transformed . . .

If you saw the cards I made last month with the Blooming Flourishes set, you know that I have a hard time "covering up" the design once I get it stamped. This card was no exception.

I stamped the flourishes on Indian Corn Blue cardstock using Outdoor Denim Ink. I colored in parts of the design with an Indian Corn Blue marker and then sponged some Outdoor Denim ink around the edges with a round sponge to give it some depth. I loved the finished result and deemed it would make a pretty notecard just as it is.

Still, that wasn't the plan. The sentiment and butterfly on my notecard transformation are from the Butterfly Kisses set. The butterfly is embossed on vellum, rubbing my vellum first with Colonial White ink and then stamping the Butterfly with Outdoor Denim and finally embossing it with clear embossing powder. The finished card is nice, although I think I would have been just as happy with my plain, albeit pretty, notecard.

Materials and Tools: Colonial White, Indian Corn Blue, and Outdoor Denim Cardstock; Outdoor Denim Ink; Indian Corn Blue marker; Vellum; Blooming Flourishes and Butterfly Kisses stamp sets; Clear Embossing Powder.

I'm tired tonight and plan to turn in early. I have a magazine article to write for a trade publication in the UK, which is due on Friday. I'd be scolding myself for procrastinating were it not for the fact that I just found out about it today. I'm going to need my wits about me tomorrow and hopefully, have no writer's block to deal with, as there is no time for creative challenges. I'm not too worried. Usually, I write best with a tight deadline looming in front of me. Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been up to. While I never saw The Terminator, I'll borrow Schwarzenegger's line anyway . . . I'll be back!

This is absolutly beautiful! It is so simple but, wow! I love the butterfly, I really need to use more vellum. This is just great!
Good luck with your article.

Not that it isn't pretty WITH the butterfly, but - WOW - I love it as is was before the butterfly too, as just a pretty note card.

Hmm ... maybe I *need* blooming flourishes .... maybe?

Loving the simple card, because the design is wonderful. But I have to say that butterfly is gorgeous!!!! I never would have thought to do the technique you described.

Oh the things you come up with always amaze me!

Hope the article writing goes well!
