Redesign

Here's the same card I posted last night, using a different color scheme. I have to say that I like this one better. It has more character.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Cocoa cardstock; Blush, Cocoa, and Bamboo ink pads; Alfresco and Beloved Blossoms stamp sets; 3M foam mounting tape; Antiqued copper mini brad.

I slept in today until almost 9:30 and felt like a million bucks when I got up. Grandpa had fed the little guys breakfast, so all I had to do was participate in playtime.

When the boy's mother picked them up a while ago, she was telling them about the birthday party they were going to at a pizza restaurant. She was also warning Bjorn that if he didn't behave, they would be leaving the party. Having been there and done that with little boys, Grandma had a brainstorm. I grabbed a pen and a piece of note paper and wrote, "I am a very good boy!" on it. Then, I showed it to Bjorn, told him I was going to fold it and put it in his jacket pocket, and should he feel the urge to be naughty at the party, he should reach for it to remind him of what a good and special little boy he is. I walked them downstairs, and when Bjorn gave me my goodbye kiss, I asked him what he was going to do at the party. His response was, "I'm going to be a good boy, and if I feel like I'm going be naughty, I'm going to reach for my note!" His mommy was impressed and thought it just might work. Now, why wasn't I so smart when my own kids were little?

Now, I need to go make some final preparations for my stamp club meeting tonight. If I get everything done and have time to kill, I might be back with something else to show you! Enjoy your day!

Aren't you the BESTEST grandma? :) You will have to tell us how successful that was!

And, I agree. I like this one better than last night's, although both are great cards. The classic brown/pink combo is one with which you can't go wrong!

That's fabulous! When I saw the first one, I almost suggested using more chocolate on the center image. Then I got called away. While the first card was pretty, this card is absolutely perfect! I will be stealing this one for sure. I might steal the note idea for my 6 year old too--great thinking Grandma!

Oops--that should be Cocoa, not Chocolate (although that would have worked too).

GREAT redesign! I almost made a suggestion to add in a different color, but felt funny doing so. The other card is really nice, don't get me wrong, but this one stands out!

Let us know if Grandma's idea worked!!!

Good luck tomorrow, too! Will be thinking about you!
