Versatility

I didn't make it until 9:30 last night or even close, and so, I was up at 4 a.m. this morning. After responding to some email correspondence, there wasn't much to do but stamp. I'll post early, too, because come evening, I might just be too tired again. This might be the beginning of a cycle . . . like a toddler with her days and nights mixed up.
Embossing this morning didn't win me any favors with an irritated husband who popped in to ask me what the heck I was doing. It probably wasn't a good idea anyway. Stamping with VersaMark on white paper is difficult unless one's lighting situation is just right. The fact that mine wasn't is the reason my ribbon ended up towards the bottom of my card. I needed something to cover up the sparseness!

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Baby Pink, and Textured Blush cardstock; Baby Pink and Blush ink pads; VersaMark ink pad; White embossing powder; Thoughts of You and Impression Obsession Sentiments II stamp sets; Round sponge; Corner rounder; White organdy ribbon; Round metal-rimmed tag; Sanding block.

The thoughts of you set isn't necessarily one I'd chose for a sympathy card, but in this case, I think it worked. Soothing green is my favorite color to use for sympathy cards, and I prefer to keep the design simple. Words are important to me on these cards, too. While they don't have to be elaborate, I want them to convey the fact that I care.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Garden Green, and Olive cardstock; Olive and Garden Green ink pads; Thoughts of You and Wordsworth Comfort stamp sets; Retired CTMH Speckled Background stamp.

I think I saved the best for last. I like the red, white, and black color combination, and of all the CTMH papers that have been retired, I miss the gingham papers the most. When my stash is gone, I'm going to have some searching to do for something to replace it. With regard to technique, there's nothing special going on here with the exception that I manipulated the stem of the flower to create a bouquet, the ability to do so being one of the big advantages of acrylic stamps.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy and Black cardstock; Retired Cranberry gingham paper; Black and Cranberry ink pads; Garden Green marker; Thoughts of You stamp set; My Legacy Writer; Black gingham ribbon, 3M foam mounting tape.

It looks like it's time to get ready for work. Another big project was dropped on my desk yesterday, so there's no worry that I'll be bored. Have a good day. I'll catch you later!

These cards made my whole day!! You see I got this stamp set at Regionals and it's not one I would have purchased, so I haven't used it much. Your tow flower cards are gorgeous yes, but the leaves--oh my. I never even noticed the leaves in the set and I absolutely love what you did with them. How perfect that would be for a masuline card--I am so inspired now--thank you!

These are great. LOL about embossing in the wee hours of the morning. I could see my husband reacting similarly. I hope your sleep cycles get back on track!

That first card is especially pretty and I agree that the gingham retiring was sad!

I really like those leaves, too.

Kathi, you just make awesome cards...no matter what time of day, night or early morning. :o) Oh and I would have had ringing ears if I tried to emboss that early...if my room were still in the house that is. LOL

Wonderful cards! I have to say my favorite is the green one though! You are right, it's so soothing and I love how you stamped the leaves and added the speckled background!
