Different Take

Here's a different take on the sketch I used for the card below. The background paper is from a retired paper packet that is in my stash. After having sanded and inked the edges of the paper , I think I might have liked the card just as well without the distressing. I was going for an "antiquey" look and am not certain I accomplished it. Perhaps, I might have done my faux stitching with the white pen, too. It's hard to tell now that it's done.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Bamboo, and Pansy Purple cardstock; Retired Victorian paper packet; Pansy Purple and Bamboo ink pads; Papertrey Ink Mixed Messages stamp set; Bamboo marker; Just Blooms Autumn Daisy paper flowers; Clear acrylic disc from Michael's; Hole punch; Piercing Tool; Stampin' Up Piercing Guide and Mat; Sanding block.

Bjorn and Mathias are staying with us tonight. I told Mathias the story of the three bears at bedtime, and then he told it back to me after his prayers. He got things a little mixed up, but his expressions were so darned cute, I couldn't do anything but smile. As for his brother, I had to "cast a spell" on him to get him to settle down. Whatever works!! I need to sneak out to the kitchen and put some ingredients together for tomorrow's punch.

Unless I wake up hours before the rest of the household, I don't anticipate being back here until tomorrow night and that's only if I have any energy left. I'll see. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day tomorrow!

This one is nice, too! Maybe a darker color to add the distressing? I don't know.

I like it though!
