Hello!

Did everyone have a nice weekend? I did. First, I enjoyed my solitude on Friday evening and much of Saturday. As much as I love my family, a little quiet every once in a while is appreciated, too. As for Mother's Day, the youngest son called, and I saw the older one by accident. We ran into each other in the grocery store. Because I see them every day at work, not seeing them yesterday was OK. When you are lucky enough to live and work within close proximity of your adult children, every day is Mother's Day.

What made Mother's Day special was the fact that I traveled to see my mother. She's quite the lady. Having raised and nurtured seven children, she is someone I recognized early on (after two kids) that I could not be. Besides being a mother and homemaker, my mom is an avid scrapbooker whose work is as beautiful and as meticulous as she is in everything else she does. I could say so much more about this wonderful woman but in this arena, will say that creativity is one of the things she nurtured in her children, and for that, I am very thankful.

My simple card was inspired by words that appeared on a little flip book of inspirational quotes that I keep on my desk. Last week was a bad week. There were some family difficulties as well as some problems at work. I felt as if I'd been knocked down, and instead of getting right back up and dusting myself off and getting on with it, I kind of laid there and felt sorry for myself for a few days. Like He always does when I'm troubled, God sent me a little message. After a snowy, miserable Saturday, yesterday was a perfect Blue Sky Day. As I drove to mom's house yesterday and looked out into the bright, clear sky, I realized that yes, He will catch me.

Bjorn and Mathias are here tonight. Having them run through the door and jump into my arms for no reason other than the fact they were glad to see me meant more than winning the lottery would. Life, regardless of its occasional trials and tribulations, is good.

What a perfect card, inspired by your insight on life this week.

Kathi, your ability to express emotions in words is awesome. I wish I had that talent. To read about your mom, your week, your life -- well, it sometimes feels like I've know you forever and we're just two girlfriends, talking over coffee.

I hope this week is better for you. Take care of you.

Kathi I am truly inspired by more than your artwork as I 'visit' you each day. I hope your week is better than last - ditto on what Maricar just said too!
