In the Mood for a Challenge

I've been a fan of Taylor's Cupcake Challenge for what seems like forever but had never participated. Actually, it's a sketch challenge, and one does not need to use cupcake stamps. For this particular sketch, however, I did opt to bring out my one and only cupcake set to give it a whirl.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Sweet Leaf, and Watermelon cardstock; Making Memories Sugar 6x6 cardstock collection; Black, Sunkiss Yellow, Blush, Baby Pink, Amethyst, Topiary, Garden Green, Twilight, and Grey Wool ink pads; Holiday Red marker; Impression Obsession Cupcakes stamp set; Bubblegum chiffon ribbon; Acrylic discs from Michael's; Liquid Glass; Dove blending pen; 3M foam mounting tape.

Even with that afternoon nap, I'm wiped out tonight, which means I'm going to hit the hay as soon as I've finished this post. We had a fun day with the little ones. We spent some time outside running through the sprinkler and riding the Gator. The big hit of the day, however, was when Grandma brought out her Cuttlebug (aka Grandma's "Card Making Machine") and let them emboss copy paper to their heart's content. As cranking on that thing isn't all that hard, I don't quite get the concept of the Cuttlekid's machine unless it's so that they have one of their own so they'll leave yours alone . . . I also gave them each a sheet of some freebie stickers I'd received with magazine subscription advertisements. They were applied to sheets of cardstock "collage style" and are now hanging on my refrigerator. Fun! No, the yawns are getting wider and more frequent, telling me it's time to call it a day. I hope you are enjoying the weekend. Take care, and thanks for stopping!

Sheesh...forgot to finish what I was going to say...got so excited about the card!

I wanted to say I don't quite "get" the cuttlekids machine either, but suspect you are correct in your thinking. I don't mind the girls playing with mine one bit. They come up with some fascinating projects...just like the boys did. YOu are a wonderful grandma to them and they will TREASURE all the special time they get with you and grandpa as they get older. Hugs! Ü

P.S.: you should have the boys as your guest bloggers. It'd be a hoot to see what they come up with their card creations!

Thanks for always having some sort of fabulous card inspiration for all of us!!! You are a super stamper and blogger!
