So, is it? Or, Isn't it?

You've been spared the music trivia for tonight. Nothing is popping into my head, so you can let out a sigh of relief. LOL.

I don't know about this card. I made my card front last night and left it propped up against the desk lamp. I didn't finish it because I didn't like it. This morning, however, I looked across the room at it and did like it - a lot. Close up, I still don't like it, but from across the room, it's great. So, what do I do? Put a disclaimer on the envelope instructing the recipient to stand it up on the table and take 10 steps before looking at it? Seriously, I have never had this happen before and don't know what to make of it.

The card was inspired by this gift wrap from Japan. We had some Japanese publishers visit work recently and as is their custom, they came bearing gifts. One of the gifts was an insulated drink cup that has an Japanese design that I love and could serve as inspiration for yet another card. I thought the gift wrap was pretty, too, and that the colors looked wonderful together. They do. . . on my card . . . from across the room. Sigh. . . What do you think?

About the card design, I cut five (three Breeze and two Taffy) 1 by 3-3/4 inch strips and adhered them to a piece of 3-3/4 by 5-inch White Daisy cardstock before random stamping the dragonflies using White Daisy pigment ink. The size allowed for the 1/4-inch "frame" around the perimeter of the card. I end up with a lot of 1 inch strips from both 6x6 and 12x12 patterned paper packs that would work well with this sketch, too.

If I'm going to get something posted tomorrow evening, I'd better get it made tonight, because Thursday's calendar is full. Early in the evening, Dustin's fiance, Miranda, is having a Signature Home party in the community room here, and a little later in the evening, we are going with Cameron and a friend and the little boys to a "Movie in the Park." The Park & Recreation Department is sponsoring the event at one of Thief River Falls' beautiful parks with a band playing early and then the movie, "The Sandlot," shown on a 25 foot screen, beginning at dusk. Of course, the second event all depends on the weather. If it's nice, it should be fun. If we get there early enough, the little ones should have time to run around and wear off any excess energy before showtime. I also envision one or more of them falling asleep before the movie is over - most likely in Grandpa's arms.

Work was OK today, so I don't have anything to complain about. No songs. No griping. Just an ordinary day - the best kind. I hope your day was your idea of "best," too. Thanks for stopping. I'll catch you later!
