This is one of those cards that just kind of evolved. It started with leaves random stamped with Chocolate Ink on same color cardstock. For something different, I pierced around each leaf, and then thought, "Now what?" That's when I reached for my new Originals book for a little inspiration. While the sketch I chose was not for a 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inch card, it worked. My favorite part of the card is the oak leaf that I stamped with Goldrush ink on Colonial White cardstock. Using a sponge I added some Autumn Terracotta, Sunflower, and Goldrush ink before cutting it out. After it was cut out, I used a sponge dauber to add a little Chocolate ink around the edges. I wanted the leaf to have some dimension without crumpling it, so I ran it over square edge of my desktop several times, first vertically and then horizontally. What that does is break up the fibers in the paper, resulting in a soft rumpled look that most likely doesn't show in the photograph. Yesterday ended up being a lazy day, so I'm going to have to step it up a bit today and get some stuff done. If I'm 'good,' I'll reward myself with a session in my corner later. LOL. This card is phenomenal. I love how you pierced the outside of the leaves. The center leaf looks amazing as well.
