I'm Dreaming of . . .

. . . A white Christmas. Ideally, it will snow about six inches approximately 10 days before Christmas - just in time to get me "in the mood" for the holidays. It won't blow around but rather be nice white, fluffy snow that will just lay there and sparkle like diamonds in the light of the the moon. In my perfect world, the weather will warm up just enough to build snowmen during the week between Christmas and New Years, and then on January 1, it will melt and be gone for the season. LOL. It ain't gonna happen, Kathi!

And while I don't want to think about snow just yet, I did have a hankering to stamp with acrylic paint tonight and what better to use than a snowflake stamp? The technique is simple, I use a 1-inch wide foam brush to dab the paint onto my stamp. Once the image is covered, you stamp the same way you do with ink. I also used the foam brush to brush a little paint/snow around the edges of my background pieces. The only thing that is a little nasty about acrylic paint is the fact that the paint dries fast, which means cleanup needs to be fast. Not to worry, however, as it will come off your stamps even after it dries. It just requires a little more work. An old toothbrush works well to get the paint out of all the little crevices. A simple design (what else?), I like the country feel of this card.

Materials & Tools: Cranberry and Stampin' Up Kraft cardstock; Cranberry ink pad; Ivory acrylic paint (Delta brand); Impression Obsession Holly Set and Technique Tuesday Words We Love stamp sets; Cranberry gingham ribbon; 1-inch foam brush; 3M foam mounting tape.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for all the great comments I've received on my last post. They, along with the email messages I've received, are so appreciated. However, I haven't received enough addresses. Believe me, I have the cards, and I can afford the postage! I'd love to send you one! For tonight, I gotta go. The beet harvest has been rained out, so Marv is home and is demanding my full attention. I suppose I'd better be nice. Hope your day was great and that tomorrow is even better. I'll talk to you then!

Your card doesn't disappoint. Don't you just love kraft cardstock? I made a card yesterday with that as the base. The white just pops off of it. Again, love the card.

Beautiful card! Stamping with acrylic paint is one thing that I haven't tried yet. It's on my never-ending "to do" list though :-) Thanks for the inspiration!
