It Doesn't Have to Be Complicated

About my card this evening, it was inspired by this card on Kimberly's For the Love of Paper blog. I saw it yesterday and thought, "Wow, that's pretty!" It's the combination of some nice paper that's too pretty to cover up, a heartfelt sentiment, and simple embellishments that compliment the design. It's what I hope I've achieved with my card, too.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Barn Red, and Stampin' Up Kraft cardstock; K&Company Wild Saffron Wild Flowers paper; Barn Red ink pad; Papertrey Ink Birthday Basics stamp set; Jute; Buttons from my stash; EK Success corner rounder; Sanding block.

Hey, tomorrow is Friday. My Thursday was OK. Saturday, I'm going to Fargo with my future daughter-in-law to pick up her wedding gown. I realized today that the trip with Miranda will be the first time that I've been out of town (other than the parade 22 miles up the road a couple weeks ago) since May. While that sounds odd, I'm not feeling like I've missed anything. Marv's back in the truck tonight, and if the weather holds out, should be done with his sugar beet hauling adventure in a couple of days. That'll be good. Speaking of good, I hope you have a good day tomorrow. Later . . .

What a lovely card! You are SO right...it doesn't have to be complicated! A beautiful paper and some well-placed elements let the design shine through.

I hope you have a fantastic time with your future daughter-in-law.

Happy Friday!
