Another Time . . .

I thought you might get a kick out of seeing what I did before becoming a stampoholic. This little sweetie was in a downstairs storage room, and I came across her the other day when going through some stuff that Marv took to our rented storage unit. She brought a smile to my face and a lot of memories to the surface.

Twelve years ago today, I was most likely sewing and getting ready for my biggest craft show of the year, which took place on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Dolls like this, along with bunnies, bears, Santas, angels and more, were stacked up all over the house, waiting to be sold at the show or packed up and shipped off to one at several consignment stores where I sold stuff. While I had a huge sewing room in the lower level of our home, I sewed and stuffed all over the house during the "rush season," which meant that the carpets were full of straight pins, and Marv and the boys, if they were smart, kept their shoes on. I had as many patterns as I do stamps now and boxes and boxes of fabric. It was fun and brought in enough $$ to be worthwhile. In fact, I sometimes wonder if eBay had been around at time, if life might not be different today. Who knows? I might still have been stitching. While the idea of working at home appeals to me so much more than the daily drudge of the corporate world, I realize, too, that had I never ventured out, there are scores of wonderful people I never would have met and experiences I wouldn't have had. With that, it's all good - at least until the alarm goes off on Monday morning. LOL.

Wow! This is adorable! I can just picture you madly sewing with batting here, pins there and scissors in another location. LOL

You definitely have a strong crafting talent! I have to say though, I'm so glad you started stamping...because if not for that I might not know you today. Hugs!

So cute! I used to sew, (not crafts like you but clothing for my kids and I)... then I discovered scrapbooking, stamping and painting.... the rest is history! Now I only use the sewing machine on my papercrafts!
