No Apologies Required

When Jeanne saw my butterfly card on Thursday, she teased me, asking if she should apologize for having inspired and enabled me to track down that stamp. My reply? A resounding, HECK NO! Besides, my wonderful friend, you have more influence on me than just the stamps and stuff you buy that I think I should buy. After a half century, you've got me thinking that the color orange is good for more than pumpkins and the round fruit for which the color is named (or maybe vice versa - I don't know). Anyway, you have done so many pretty things with orange, that it's grown on me. So much so, in fact, that I couldn't pass up Basic Grey's new Ambrosia paper. Isn't it pretty? Fun sketch, too, huh? It's Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #41.

As for my card, it's another chalked butterfly. I stamped it with VersaMark ink and then used a cotton ball to add some Sunflower, Orange, and Holiday Red chalk. It's such a simple card that has elements that make it appear to be "more." Fun! And Jeanne, thank you for broadening my horizons. LOL.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Cocoa cardstock; Basic Grey Ambrosia 6x6-inch paper pad; VersaMark and CTMH Chocolate Distressing Ink stamp pads; Basic Grey Ambrosia Bitsy Bohemia stamp set; Antiqued Copper mini brads; Summer and Autumn chalk sets; Fiskars Sunburst border punch.

I thought I slept in this morning until, that is, I realized that the clock I had looked at had not been converted to standard time. There is a dusting of snow on the ground this morning, and the skies are still a dreary gray. The only sound is the wind howling. I think I'll find some peppy, uplifting music to listen to, close the drapes, and pretend the sun is shining. My corner requires that I straighten up a bit from yesterday before starting anything new, so that's where I'm headed. I hope yours is a great day. I'll catch you later!
