Ominous?

This is my card for the second day of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge at Paper Craft Planet. Cameron was here when I was uploading it to PCC and asked, "Is that a sympathy card?" I told him it could be, and that's when he told me my birds looked ominous. And here I was thinking it was kind of pretty. LOL.

The card was made with Flourishes Birds and Vine set. The vine and birds were stamped with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink on Colonial White cardstock. I colored the leaves in with my Garden Green marker and inked the edges with Bamboo ink, using a sponge dauber. The crowning touch was some Liquid Applique on the flowers.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Black, and Garden Green cardstock; Memento Tuxedo Black and CTMH Bamboo stamp pads; Garden Green marker; Flourishes Birds and Vine and Verve Stamps Heartfelt Phrases stamp sets; Gold mini brad; White Liquid Applique; Sponge dauber.

The boys are "camping" in the living room tonight. Grandpa made them a tent and gave them some popcorn. I guess I'll be vacuuming in the morning. No problem. They should be tired after a Wii workout. I am amazed at how good Bjorn is at most games. As for Mathias, he doesn't get the hang of the controller just yet. Luckily, he's happy to watch and offer lots of commentary! What a pair. It's so much fun to have them around. With that, I'm going to go see if there's room for me in the tent. At the very least, I'll try to mooch a little popcorn.

I hope that you're enjoying your weekend, too! And again, thanks for stopping by!

ROFLOL Kathi.... we used to do 'living room camping' when the boys were little - they still talk about it.
LOVE the card - the birdies are NOT ominous at all.... it's a very elegant card!

I do agree that it looks a bit like a sympathy card, but it would be a sympathy card that ANYONE would be happy to get! It is BEAUTIFUL!

NO! Those birds do NOT look ominous at all. Your card is wonderful and elegant.

Love the camping in the living room idea. The girls have done it during the day, but not at night.

Hope you mooched a bunch of popcorn. It's my favorite snack!
