Sketchy

This first card is my adaptation of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #43. As you can see, I pretty much stuck with the plan. Except for the fact that the Silhouette papers are some of the prettiest papers ever produced by Close To My Heart there isn't much to say.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White and Black cardstock; Silhouette paper packet; Black and Bamboo stamp pads; Verve Stamps Serenity stamp set; Black mini brads; Cuttlebug w/Nestabilities Classic Circles set; Sponge dauber.

My second card, for this week's Paper Craft Planet sketch, is very simple. When I saw the oval, I immediately thought of my Treasure Life set, a CTMH Stamp of the Month that will never be cast aside regardless of whether or not it ever makes it way into CTMH's regular line. I sanded the Hollyhock cardstock to coordinate with the paper from the Notebook paper pack. It's embellishment-free unless you consider the piercing off the sentiment an adornment.

Materials & Tools: Colonial White, Black, and Hollyhock cardstock; Notebook paper packet; Black ink pad; Treasure Life Stamp set; Cuttlebug w/Nestabilities Classic Ovals set; Piercing tool; Stampin' Up Piercing Guide and Mat; Sanding block.

This last card is my take on Jen Del Muro's A Sketch for You to Try. The patterned papers are from CTMH's Magic Moments paper packet. I appreciate every opportunity I have to combine green with blue. With regard to the card construction, the picture tells the story - I think. The gingham ribbon was the last "add" and the perfect finishing touch.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy, Indian Corn Blue, and Sweet Leaf cardstock; Magic Moments paper packet; Indian Corn Blue, Sweet Leaf, and Sunflower ink pads; Sweet Leaf Designer Ribbon Rounds; Clear button; Chocolate Waxy Flax; Chocolate mini brads; Stampin' Up Ticket punch; 1 and 1-1/4 inch circle punches; Sponge dauber; 3M foam mounting tape.

Whew! That was a lot of typing. As for all the great sketches that are presented every week, I started a new folder, aptly entitled "Sketches," in my photo file on my computer, so that I can reference them again and again.

I'm not feeling great this evening, the dull headache that I had when I woke up still hanging on. This afternoon, I joined my sister-in-laws at Marv's mom's house where we put together a photo display for tomorrow night's prayer service at the funeral home and then the church on Tuesday. Marv's home after a good weekend but is kind of dreading the next couple of days. I understand. Tonight, I need to put my writing cap on and put the words that are floating around in my head on a Word document in the form of a eulogy. I hope everyone has a good week. I'll be back as time (and creativity) allows. Take care, and thanks for stopping by.

All 3 cards are simply wonderful Kathi. I love what you've done with these sketches. And good luck with the upcoming funeral and your writings for it.

The headache may be from all those thoughts roaming around your head and the anticipation of the events coming.

I'm so glad to see, though, that it didn't affect your creativity. These cards are fantastic!

Good luck this week. My thoughts will be with you and Marv as you get through this difficult time. Hugs!!
