A Bit of Whimsy ...

I deviated from the sketch (Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #58) for this funny card. With the realization that this one isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, I like it. The very sight of the silly-looking owl makes me laugh. I stamped the branch and the sun on a 3x4-inch piece of textured White Daisy cardstock and filled in the 'sun' with inked up round sponge. Then, I cut the image into 1-inch squares and put it back together like a puzzle on a piece of Chocolate cardstock. I stamped the owl on a separate piece of paper and cut it out. The sentiment piece is mounted to the card with foam mounting tape.

Materials & Tools: White Daisy Textured cardstock; White Daisy and Chocolate cardstock; Basic Grey Archaic 6x6-inch paper pad; Chocolate, Honey, and Outdoor Denim ink pads; Wordsworth It's Your Day and Everyday Whimsy stamp sets; Ribbon from Wal-Mart; Outdoor Denim mini brads and spiral clip; Cuttlebug w/Nestabilities Classic Ovals set; 3M foam mounting tape.

Why stop now? More to come ...

I like this, too! I think owls are growing on me! Your image looks great. As does that sun! I know it can be difficult to stamp a solid image evenly.

You did a terrific job on this sketch. Thanks for sharing!
