A Bunny Tale ...

As I noted previously, I just about went nuts when I saw this post on Jeanne's Creative Bliss blog. She got the idea from this post on the Clearly iStamp blog. I saw that post, too, but obviously didn't see the same thing Jeanne did. I saw a cool basket and some Nugget bunnies made with stamps I don't have. Jeanne saw an idea and figured out a way to adapt it to something she did have - a digital image.

What made me particularly crazy when I saw her bunnies was the fact that I'd owned that image in the form of a rubber stamp from D.J. Inkers. There's a possibility I still do, although I wasn't about to go start digging through boxes in storage to find it only to find it wasn't the right size. Instead I went on a little Internet treasure hunt and found the Bunnies & Eggs clip art download on the D.J. Inkers website. Granted, it's not the same bunny but rather a close, cute relative.

Like Jeanne, I followed the easy-to-follow tutorial for the basket. I did decide, however, that after scoring cardstock-weight acetate with the scoring blade on my paper trimmer, I seriously need a Scor-Pal. If my pickets aren't perfect, it's because I eyeballed it and cut them freehand. Additionally, I didn't have the right edger for my handle. To compensate, I pierced the white strip with a scrolly template I've had laying around for months and added a pink layer. My bunnies are "dressed" in retired Baby Pink Background & Texture paper. I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits.

Sadly, I only had three pompoms, so currently, there are 22 bunnies sitting on a plate who have no tails. I'm hoping Wal-Mart has white pompoms, as I can't quite imagine telling Marv that we need to drive 55 miles to pick up some rabbit tails. LOL.

After getting up so early, I've been ready to hit the hay for the past two hours. Marv's warning: "Don't you dare." Obviously, he isn't fond of listening to the coffeemaker do its thing at 4:15. I hope everyone is looking forward to the week ahead. As always, thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. Your visits are greatly appreciated!

P.S. Thanks for seeing what I don't see, Jeanne! Your idea was the best!

Like Jeanne, you did a beautiful job with this basket and bunnies! Your choice of bunny is darling too -- love the big smile and the way the ears kinda come together like a heart. (I love my Scor-Pal too, but you did a great job with the eye-balling the pickets!)
