New Feature

A very sweet email message requesting links to cards made with specific stamp sets spurred me to do something I've been wanting to do for a long time - build a custom search engine for my blog. It's located on the sidebar under About Me and Contact Me. The best thing about it is that it works! For example, if you type in the words "Treasure Life," a new page will appear with links to the cards I made using that stamp set. Other search words I've tried are names of companies and specific tools, etc. I knew there was a reason why I have been so darned meticulous about my material and tools lists! Woo Hoo!

As for how I did it, I haven't a clue. I just followed directions. Believe me, when it comes to this blog nothing that I do that's technical stays in my head past the point of success. LOL.

Another feature I've been meaning to add to my side bar is My Followers. Currently however, there seems to be a problem with the My Followers widget and Internet Explorer. I experienced the repercussions of the issue myself a couple of days ago when using IE, I tried to leave a comment on a blog that had the My Followers widget in its sidebar. What I got was the "blue screen of death," which scared the heck out of me. The problem is pretty much universal and does not occur with Firefox. It's my understanding that Blogger is working on it, and when it's fixed I'll add My Followers, too.

Back to the search engine, I hope it's helpful!

I finally got tired of being bumped off IE -Internet Explorer and switched to Firefox. I am still getting bumped off, but not as frequently. I am still learning my way around but, I think I will like it better than IE. There are still a lot of bloggers that don't have the followers thingy. On the dashboard of your blog is a place to add all the blogs you visit even if they don't have the followers thingy. That's what I used to solve my problem about checking them all out. You want to hear something funny? Several months ago when I was stalking your blog I kept wondering why you hadn't posted anything new for a really long time and then realized I had made ONE of you your posts my favorite and every time I clicked on the link it took me back to that one post and never to your current post. I figured you had stopped creating for awhile. I learn as I go along.

I have been having IE problems too...BUT I did solve it by changing some settings in the TOOLS menu...and poof it's all better now.
I was totally Cracking Up at the Blue Screen of Death!!!!
When I first started following your blog I went back to the begining and have nejoyed looking at all the cards you first posted. Your search widget is a great idea.
I know what you mean about doing something and then forgetting how you did it!! I gave my blog a background in the begining and for the life of me I have no idea how to change it LOL.

Kathi, in response to your invitation search, I found the variety at Michael's, JoAnns, Staples and Office Depot are about the same. I used a laserjet printer. The programs I just used an inexpensive card stock. My problem came when I tried to purchase postage. Hmm, I seem to have a lot of postage issues, now that I think about it. Anyway I went to two different post offices and each one said something different. One said 42 and the other said 59. We put 42 on them and none came back.
Good luck with the prep.
